The Flames And Wings Had An Old-Fashioned Dust-Up

So, would we say that she’s the one who likes all Nirvana’s pretty songs and she likes to sing along, and she likes to shoot her gun, but she don’t know what it means?

Were either given an official position as an advisor to their dad?

I would have thought the article made no sense. I mean Obama’s oldest daughter wasn’t even born yet when Cobain died. Now we are supposed to believe a baby dyed her hair blue? The whole story would fall apart.

LANDED WRONG AND ITS FUCKING TURNED 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND HES SCREAMING AND EVERYONE WALKS AWAY HOLDING THEIR STOMACH. HES DEAD. HE FUCKJNG DIED

Big deal.

Seriously. The fact that they are reconfigurable is really neat.

The prewired AUX switches are probably the best part. A low risk venture for accessory items.

THIS^. The thing that no conservative tax crusader will ever tell you is that probably 90% of the tax code only applies to people in about the top 2%. Period. We’re talking about the vast majority of the tax code exists purely for a few thousand corporations and people.

The argument about the complexity of the tax

The bracket simplification argument really burns me. We could go to 10,000 brackets and the computer I’m typing this on could probably compute every US taxpayer’s income tax in about 4 days, maybe 4 hours.

But NOOOO: “Reduce the number of brackets, THAT’S what makes the tax code so complex!” Lying liars with pants on

Can’t star this enough. Where are those deficit hawks?!? Didn’t we have a budget surplus before the Bush tax cuts? Aren’t these tax cuts going to increase our deficit by over a TRILLION dollars?

What’s super fucked is the fact that lots of people idolize the 50's and 60's. One of the defining features of the 5o’s and 60's? Sweet, sweet gubmint cash. Schools were super well funded. Christ, you could get driver’s ed in your average high school up until practically the 80's. That’s like $400-500 right there. You

Correct re: brackets. You can have two brackets or 200 brackets. Doesn’t matter since it’s just a matter of looking up your income and finding it on the chart. So it takes six seconds longer to find your bracket among the 199 others. It makes no difference in “simplifying” the tax code. Wanna simplify? Every dollar

I would suggest that, if you think you are “(moderately) rich”, you are probably not the focus of HamNo’s ire, nor the target of the tax increases progressives propose. Even if you are being modest and you are actually in the top tax bracket (>$418k), you are extraordinarily well off and are in no danger of being

Don’t forget the followup to the tax cuts - oh wow, now the deficit has exploded, we have no choice now but to cut health care, unemployment benefits, or anything else that benefits mainstream America.

Progressive taxation. I mean real progressive taxation - like there should be a 90% bracket over say $5 million a year.

Pretty much this. Meaningful wealth redistribution from the wealthy to the poor will not occur in this country without violent revolution. In the meantime, would it be too much to ask that the wealthy stop bleeding whatever little the poor have left?

Seriously.

>The proper way to think about it is, “How can the government remedy gross economic inequality by moving wealth from those who have too much to those who have too little?”

I think Shannon Sharpe has the best take on this so far:
