I haven’t driven a manual JK (I have an auto because the wife doesn’t want to learn to drive a standard and, well, traffic) but I did drive a manual Renegade and it was underwhelming.

On a 2-door it’s gotta be even less. I don’t think I’d want to tow over 2k lbs. in mine. The short wheel base is a real issue.

The “crank-down glass” is one of the best features on my JK (imho).

It is the law in Canada.

I agree with everything in this post except for the capital letters. Also, YJ’s have square headlights so they suck. (kidding).

Toronto has a fairly large “Chinatown” and it’s a nod to Chinese New Year. Raptors have some cool jerseys, especially the camo or Huskies jerseys.

I love that Canadian broadcast of a Canadian basketball team is not available for Canadians. Well, at least I was able to watch the game last night.

Agreed. Income taxes are actually fairly high for anyone making over 90k and keep getting higher as you earn more (I’ve been in Canada for a decade so i’m more familiar with rates here now, but it’s close to the US).

Thanks Dave. This is hands-down the most incredible article I’ve seen on Deadspin.

absolutely, but the most important badges to get off are those dealer ones. Unless they want to write me a check for advertising on my car. :)

Agreed, a Jag engine from 51-54 (at least) will work and can be found.

I think so too (XK 140, not 120)

Oddly there are still parts to be found for these.

Maybe. Depends. My uncle might have $40k in his ‘52 when all is said and done, but he has been restoring (much older cars than this) for 40 years.

Agreed. I should have read your reply before I posted, but I think this is a ‘54 XK 140 fixed head coupe, not a ‘54 XK 120.

Ha, sorry about the typos.

The pictures (and state of the car) don’t do the vehicle justice. Neither doesn’t the roof. My uncle is restoring a 1952 XK 120 and while the lines are different on this ‘54 (which I actually think is an XK 140 fixed head coupe) they are gorgeous cars. My uncles has an original engine (he bought it separately from the

It’s not a car, it’s a jeep ;)

It was actually kinda funny. Though, admittedly I skimmed it.
