Oh I love that person.
Oh I love that person.
Yes, it would probably be a little creepy otherwise.
There has typically been a bit of a no-mans-land at the borders where non-US citizens (and US citizens to only a slightly lesser extent) are pretty much subject to the whims of CBP. There have been several cases of Canadian citizens who may or may not be Muslim being denied entry recently after phone searches, along…
I highly recommend following Masha Gessen* (the author if this piece) on twitter and checking out some of her gigs on YouTube. She has a very cool perspective on it all (check out her bio/history between the US and Russia - she’s pretty badass) and is a good source of sanity/grounding/calm/broader focus than the…
I’ve never been to Iceland so I don’t really know what the situation was - Irish, Canadian, and Caribbean airports have US CBP checkpoints but there were stories the weekend the 1st travel ban EO was in effect from multiple other points in Europe as well.
Oh but it’s even better - we’re a place where people fleeing wars and poverty that we are often directly responsible for are being treated like dirt even more than usual right now. And while we do it we’ll pretend we’re just the bees knees and yell at you if you disagree.
I grew up mostly in the US but a) spending summers in the Thousand Islands at my grandparents cottage and b) flying between Montreal and Philadelphia during my late teens/early twenties and have crossed that border a lot by road, by boat, and by air. The ones @ Dorval/Trudeau were the worst - I always figured they…
Alas, a sin of the times.
They are asking questions about faith and searching through phones if you “appear” like you may be Muslim. Translation: if you’re darker than a Northern Italian.
As one of the 65 million who voted for Clinton, please don’t feel bad on my behalf. At least, not for not wishing to visit us rn lol.
Some airports that have a very high amount of US bound flights have US border/customs-immigration officials to help take some of the traffic out of US airports. Most Canadian airports, for example, or major Irish airports.
Same magical thinking that collaborators use... “I’ll be safe if I just throw these people under the bus. Surely then the bus will stop and not come after anyone else like me.”
hhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttt
Oh I understand why that would make you uncomfortable - I never had coaches who did that, male or female, in any sport, so I think it’s weird in general. I think the more common coach (and underlying problem sometimes) is neither the molester nor the “good” coach but the conventionally abusive ones like the guy who…
There are plenty of men who are fully capable of coaching young girls in extremely positive ways and comparatively very few who will abuse their position, but of course they are the ones that become public examples and so effect a perception bias.
The University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania State University are not the same school.
I’d really enjoy a party with this happening actually, thanks. It’s be hilarious to watch assholes try to scramble.
We should be absolutely ashamed of ourselves.
It’s for assholes who want some kind of movie-version war glory but are too afraid of something that shoots back.
Job creation!!
