The difference is mini-USB never saw the volume of usage as USB-A did. But even the small amount that it has, it’s still around.

Takes a long time to phase out connectors. VGA and DVI cables are still out there. Hell, my computer has PS-2 ports!

These technologies should be phased out, but it’ll be another 20 years before I don’t see USB ports on devices anymore.

Same thing happens to David Cross all the time. He makes tons of atheist jokes and is pretty offensive, and every once in a while, people walk out of his show. During the 2016 election, he told jokes about Trump and people walked out a lot. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t tell those jokes.
