Is this per capita?  Like is it due to the higher number of cyclists in general but deaths per cyclist is lower?

Oddly Faye is the only part that is growing on me with each teaser/trailer.  Maybe because she is something different instead of a pale copy of the anime.

Maybe Colin was the genesis! Maybe having a brother that is “perfect” to your parents gives you only one direction to go?

Not directed at the author, directed at Lifehacker: I am starting to get tired of the articles that are just a summary about another website’s article or a tik-tok. Not a critique, not a response, just a summary.

Did anyone else notice the glucose monitoring device on the kid’s arm at 0:34?  I think it is neat that someone had to make that choice.  I think that’s cool to include.

I’m not sure how much of hot take this is, as it still doesn’t address the fact that black people are treated more poorly by the police than white people... but I wish BLM as a movement had been able to more successfully tie in stories like this to get more support for police reform.

No!! I found her so charming (but I see why she would be annoying to some).  I wish I didn’t know this.  Seems like she is still supporting the cult.  :(

Definitely sits at the apex of is prison time for punishment, reform, or to keep a dangerous person away from innocent people?

I feel like you are actually more likely to get a consequence for reckless driving than actually causing an accident. I see all the time articles about a truck running over a pedestrian or a biker making a right turn in my city and never at ticket issued.  Must be an act of god or something...

I know! I don’t get it. One time I got punched in the face by an insane woman who lived in my building. I probably had 150 lbs on this woman, so props to her, and wasn’t worried for my safety in the moment. But everyone in the building was having problems with her and things were started to escalate. I figured if

I saw some quote that was like “behind every “bad cop” is a partner who didn’t speak up, an internal investigation team who didn’t investigate, a chief or buried the report, a DA who refused to press charges, a mayor who didn’t release the video”... etc. Where are the “good cops” we’ve been talking about?

The mentioning the PhD thing kills me every time I see her show up on something. Most recent I remember was a rewatch of the LEGO Masters show.

Thanks for this list!  (Editing comment... as my silly mind couldn’t tell the the difference in letters between Authoritarian and Authoritative.)

Please get some wind covers for your microphone! I’m sure this is on a phone or something, but this didn’t seem spontaneous so wish you had brought some kind of mic. The outdoor content is always so interesting, but barely watchable because of the wind noises ripping my eardrums out! Amazing van.

This shit is bonkers. And so crazy to me that racism like this can survive serving alongside black people, probably in the same shitty bunk on the same shitty ship.

I agree. I’ve been looking through “upstander” training materials recently and never did they say “get in someone’s face once the immediate situation is over”.

Yes! I actually hang my comforter on my door to let the bed air out and the comforter. Though sometimes I feel like this makes my fitted sheet dusty.

I feel so seen!! Thank you!  And I think its a bummer because that would be a very silly thing that I would enjoy knowing.

But if you look at all of the countries with good rail systems (France, Germany, China, Japan) the government either still owns all the infrastructure or built out the infrastructure and then started to privatize parts of the system once the successful system was up and running.

Exactly! The injustice of innocent people being locked up is just 1/2 of the coin. It also means the real criminal got away with something this whole time, and for all we know, killed other people.
