I’m not sure how much of hot take this is, as it still doesn’t address the fact that black people are treated more poorly by the police than white people... but I wish BLM as a movement had been able to more successfully tie in stories like this to get more support for police reform.

But if you look at all of the countries with good rail systems (France, Germany, China, Japan) the government either still owns all the infrastructure or built out the infrastructure and then started to privatize parts of the system once the successful system was up and running.

Exactly! The injustice of innocent people being locked up is just 1/2 of the coin. It also means the real criminal got away with something this whole time, and for all we know, killed other people.
