Why are you surprised? Isn’t finding bugs exactly what betta testing is for?

I totally agree with you. There is no doubt that all else held equal more choices is better. But you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of why CC screens are they way they are and the costs that come along with trying to make everyone happy (which is impossible anyway). You talk about these CC screens only

In your other article, you lamented the lack of options that let you create a character that looks more like you. But in this one, you’re bashing players for doing the same. Seems kinda strange to me.

You don’t understand - JK Rowling is the topic du jour, so everyone is putting on their woke caps to show how mad they are. JK’s tweets are much, much worse than Bezos’s exploitation or Nike’s slave labor!

Fuck yes. To those crying about online modes... maybe use this comment section to trade PSN info? This is how you make friends.

I’m a black man and I couldn’t even finish this article. Just from the few paragraphs I read, it’s as if the writer is asking for more depictions of racism in a video-game.

I mean, RDR2 has ghosts, vampires, aliens, cave trolls, cannibal villages, etc. I think the idea that RDR2 was aiming for historical accuracy is flawed. It does try to make the point that the hollywood depictions of the wild west weren’t ever real while also basically being one of those depictions. But its aim was

but the game’s depiction of everything is perfunctory. that’s how all video games are.

I think this is kind of a lose lose situation. It would make me uncomfortable to play in a historically accurate version of that era when it comes to race, I can only empathize that it might make a person of color that much more uncomfortable (I assume you could answer that question :)). However, not acknowledging it

(Would you really be okay with Rockstar “profiting” off depictions of lynchings?)

Except as you said, this is a game. I don’t need it to be realistic to the point of being cringy or painful. I believe the dev decided how they wanted the era to be depicted and comited to it. Just as you said they should.

Anyone else picturing how this article would have been written if the game HAD included those elements?

“RDR 2 is incredibly unwelcoming to people of color. Everywhere there are signs that say “whites only” and “no blacks”. NPCs react differently to your white character and your black counterparts in the game...”

Strong disagree with the no workplace romance/flirting. Some of my favorite couples at work met there and have been married for years.

“Man who makes games featuring sexually suggestive women is personally thanked by sexually suggestive woman for his sexually suggestive women and then accused of being sexually inappropriate.”

You know the rules, and so do I.”

Oh f this chick. Seriously. You don’t get to seek out a guy with comments about bdsm, transition into how you like sex art and then suddenly act uncomfortable with a conversation YOU initiated and are PERPETUATING.

I don’t agree with what he did, but was part of his cheating using his position as power over women? Idk this just seems like a shitty person, but unless I missed something this seems more like a personal issue. All entertainment industries have a lot of issues with sexual misconduct, assault, harassment. I just am

I am not singling your reply in particular, but the general tone and yours is a good example of it. What’s with this “never forgive always hate” outrage people have about people? People digging up tweets from 3, 5, 10+ years prior and demanding they get fired and never hired again, and such (and worse, succeeding).

I

“he can go and be destitute and die”

Oh look someone growing up and admitting their mistakes and stopping. Oh look here comes the people who want to see him burn and pay out for the rest of his life and his children to do the same for their parents transgressions.
