One thousand percent.
One thousand percent.
I know she speaks Latvian. I’m guessing the other languages are probably not as good as her English, since she’s lived in the US for decades. Could be wrong.
I want you here. I believe in your humanity. I’m sorry this is happening.
I’ve belonged to the YMCA for more than 30 years. I love my Y. It is not cheap, per se, but it has many free classes and I’ve made a lot of friends there. Here are a few great things about my Y experience:
My neighbor was doing an illegal Air BnB and it was horrific. I was in grad school at the time and several weekends (my main study times) there was so much loud music coming up that I couldn’t sleep let alone write papers. Was very bad. Also, much garbage on the back stairs. No good. It was annoying.
I don’t think her dog likes her at all.
I don’t want to vote for Biden, I still hold an Anita Hill grudge. But I think 1981 is almost 40 years ago and people change. In fact, in 1981 I was just entering the workforce (granted part time) and it job advertisements (in the newspaper, only imagine!) specified jobs for men or women applicants. In NYC at the time…
Fair question.
I once worked with someone who, when called out by his supervisor on a threatening statement made in a one-on-one situation, said, “I would never say that because then I would lose my job.” He made the threatening statement to someone I had always known to be honest. She was so upset by the interaction that she wrote…
Cold as ice. Also completely fair and just. Wow.
I think when you blame people what you are really doing is whistling past the graveyard. “This person did a bad thing. I’m a good person. I will never have to worry about doing this.” It’s just a thing people do, trying to outsmart that “There but for the grace of God go I.” instinct about tragedy. Swept away in flash…
This guy needs to go. Not because he’s not a true believer (though I’m guessing there is some personal discomfort there) but because he did it this way. This is not how you do this. If you are asking people not to use words and phrases they have used for decades (and which you use on your very own website), you must…
I know. Stupid, self-righteous, and blaming.
Everything was cheaper then. My student loan payments were $60 a month. In Williamsburg Greenpoint and my rent was $240 a month. I made $250 a week. Today’s recent grad hitting NYC would never have a ratio like that, unless they were making six figures out of the gate. I read so many lectures from people my age about…
I’m not saying things aren’t bad in the UK, but I think they’re just getting on the same elevator we’ve been on for a while.
Yeah, when I was in college they had to quit taking you as a deduction. You had to file your own taxes. And, yeah, three years was the magic number.
Yeah, sometimes things get abandoned because it would be nigh unto impossible to remove them.
Always my first thought. Perhaps unfairly. But perhaps not.
It probably would have been light outside. It is a late time to hike, but I suppose you could get distracted and not realize the lateness. Then again, I don’t know if Belarus has similar late daylight.
Ok, done here.
