Perhaps I haven’t searched hard enough, but I don’t think anyone is saying they deserved to die because they ran from cops. They died because they made a mistake. You can’t blame the officers for not risking their lives to save theirs. Police have an obligation to do whatever they can within reasonable limits, but…

People say “real jeep” and don’t even know what that means. People need to look up the Original Jeep Renegade, Jeepster, and Commando.

I also like these very much. Real jeep or not, the design and resulting looks is great.

Back in the 80s the XJ wasn't a real Jeep. I'm not sold on the Renegade, but getting pissy about it isn't going to win a prize.

^ This..... So much this. Many people love to rag on the Renegade for not being a “real” Jeep, but in reality it is the perfect “lifestyle vehicle” for a large portion of the Jeep buying public.

I’ve always liked these little guys from the start. Are they a “real” jeep? Well, no. Not even close. However, they are PERFECT for 90% of the people who “need” a jeep. Even if they don’t know it’s perfect for them.
