However, I’m sure the U.S. spec will all be AWD...
Thankfully RWD.
I think I may just end up keeping the 1 series. I don’t really need a car that has more horsepower (GASP! I know), but I get in enough trouble with 230hp (It’s good for 150mph).
Unless it cost THEM money (i.e. lawsuit), they don’t care.
Ha! Perfect!
Really? I love the heaving steering, at least when I don’t have a lot of tight parking to do.
I’m in the same boat right now! I currently have a 128i (2013). Leased. I haven’t driven the 2 series yet. I keep hearing how it’s a softer car and not as communicative. The track package may help that. I still need to go to the dealer.
They should ask more money for it.
I read that the REAR seat side impact failed. Nobody should be back there anyways...
Oh! Jag says 0-60mph in 6.5sec. Is that with the “big” v6. If so, that really isn’t all that great. Not saying it’s slow, but others are reaching below that number with smaller engines...
Still need to go for a road test in one of these. However, NO manual? It is decently lightweight for it’s size. However, people who want a sporty to drive sedan will gravitate towards good ol BMW with a stick shift.
Man, people are REALLY laying into you. lol I get your point.
I’d say the modern equivalent would be a 1 series or 2 series. Yes it costs more than a SI, but so was the cost of an M3. The 1 series are just bare bones and had an amazing chassis with the added sports suspension. I can speak for the 1 series and it is quintessentially what a BMW should be. That’s what the e30 was…
It’s not JUST about the numbers. It’s how the car makes you feel when you drive it. :)
Not to mention the new 4CYL has LESS power than the one it replaces. On top of this FWD chassis, BMW has really loses its roots to Americans demands.
Thanks for the reply! That’s good to hear! I’ve been in a few cars where the only thing the Sport Button does is make the car get worse MPGs (holds the revs).
Heck, I was looking into leasing a Ram. It was $10k LESS than my current car. It was almost $100 more a month to lease.
Maybe I should keep my “last of an era” 1er...
I currently have a 128i with M sport. I’ve been eying Mini Coopers as of lately. However, I do love my RWD but I can give it up for awhile if I find a car that’s still fun to drive.
