At least Cars 2 had Owen Wilson,  at least Cars 2 had Michael Caine, at least Cars 2 was colorful, at least Cars 2 didn't have Dane Cook.

I recognize that Disney thinks Planes pretty horribly they didn't even give it a spot in June-July, but right into August. I'm sure they weren't banking on it being a success like Monsters U or The Lone Ranger. So yeah they hired Dane Cook, they probably thought they were fucked when they couldn't use Jon Cryer.

I hated Waiting, I hated Blade:Trinity, hated X-Men: Origins, Hated fucking Van Wilder, went into Green Lantern wanting to like it but ended up hating it. And now that Reynolds is going to fuck Highlander up severally, probably making a worse movie than the Source.
