Prison guards and the prison system are wholly responsible for ANY and ALL violence that occurs in the facilities they are running.

Here’s another truth: Carolina (also) lost. The McAllisters are having a rough weekend and I’m totally here for it.

Nah, get the names right

Add to this Captain Marvel - Brie Larson said her movie was not for white dudes (as in not the target audience) and white men everywhere lost their minds.

Yep. The word you’re looking for is “triggered”. Nobody in society is more triggered than a fuckin white dude who’s told that 100% of everything might not be about him.

The most troubling part though was seeing news outlets clip out a piece of quote in an inflammatory way like that. The article could have just as easily been headed “Jordan wants to tell stories with people he doesn’t see represented well”. And then dive into the article. But they damn well know people only read

Taking you out of the grey’s is a tragic mistake but here goes: No people of color can’t practice racism. Jordan Peele said there are enough roles and films devoted to white men that he doesn’t feel the need to take opportunities away from other well deserving black actors to feed the egos of white film goers who once

Up and Vanished is a fascinating listen for that exact reason. It is really interesting to observe Lindsey transform himself from the outside investigator to the central figure of the podcast. Taken as a whole it is a fascinating character study in narcissism.

Totally agree with you on the Payne Lindsey issue. Each of his podcasts seems to limp to a weak and inconclusive ending.

And Chad.

Don’t they always cast people who look just like them? Why can’t Jordan Peele do it too? They big mad and I’m here for it. I’ve already seen Us twice and I’m planning for a third. Jordan Peele can have my coins.

Cold”

Dr Death was straight up terrifying. To think you could be going to a doctor you trust for a basic procedure and end up paralyzed or dead because of his never ending negligence absolutely shook me to my core.

Highly recommend KSL’s Cold podcast. There’s only 1 season so far and it just wrapped recently, but it’s a really well done deep-dive into the disappearance/murder of Susan Powell.

Couldn’t agree more. Season one of In the Dark is great, but season two is phenomenal. The effort the podcast/journalists go into researching and vetting the case is truly commendable

Going to have a bone to pick about some of these. Up and Vanished and Atlanta Monster are both questionable because of Payne Lindsey. 100%. I listened to ALL of Up and Vanished and the amount of patting himself on the back Lindsey does is actually so frustrating and disgusting I can’t believe it. And I’m personally

Death in Ice Valley is amazing. If you like Bear Brook, you’ll love DIIV

Big plug for In the Dark - Season 1 is about a cold case child abduction but Season 2 is about the INSANE case of Curtis Flowers, who was convicted of murder 6 TIMES by the same DA but it was overturned 5 times, partly due to prosecutor misconduct. The case was accepted by the Supreme Court who heard oral arguments

I mean, I could buy that he was regularly abused.
