I’ve actually been using Mercedes Diesel Spec Mobil 1 5W40 as we have it in bulk at my work. I’m probably going to run Rotella 15W40 or similar at the track. No oil temp gauge at the moment but its an IS so I have an external oil cooler.

I just got my results back from Blackstone today, luckily my E30's inline six got a clean bill of health so should be safe to track the hell out of it this summer.
I recall reading an interview years back with the owner of now defunct HPF tuning (maker of insane twin turbo kits for BMW’s) that the stock S54 bottom end was good for around 800 HP. Assuming your rod bearings have already been replaced that is.
Seriously, it didn’t happen in a hotel with “gate” in the name, and deflated footballs have nothing to do with W. Mark Felt. Just fucking move on already.
A motorcycle.
As the forks violently move side to side the brake rotors and pads also shake side to side thereby compressing the caliper pistons slightly, it then takes a few pumps of the brake lever to move pistons and pads back against the rotor before you regain normal stopping power.
Its a fairly common issue in motorcycle racing, less so in cars but not impossible. When you get head shake from the front end at high speed on a bike the pads wobble away from the rotor, when you take your first squeeze of the brake lever it does nothing and you need to pump the lever like mad to get them seated…
Sure but isn’t it more fun to paint Boston as being as corrupt as all the gangster movie portrayals and give it an attention grabbing headline? Easier than doing research on the article your writing too!
Same here, my E30 is just fine in Boston gridlock and I’d never consider anything but a manual.
Call up the parts department at your local MB/Smart dealer if you’re that curious.
You know why they are so cheap? Because they are incredibly expensive. Take the electric Smart car that can be leased for something crazy like $99 per month, if the battery should fail in that car (and it will just as frequently as your cell phone or laptop) your looking at $35K to replace it.
Some Team O’Neil gift certificates! Hopefully 2017 will be the year I finally scrounge together enough cash/spare time to make it up for the 5 day rally school.
Just keep this and “You’re Wrong” on repeat until January 20th.
Have you been to Cuba? They have shortages of literally everything and not many countries have traded with Cuba large scale up until fairly recently because they face potential sanctions for violating the US blockade. Even with the blockade diminished Cuba doesn’t have enough cash or exportable goods to do the amount…
Quick lets get that Dakota Access up and running! Not like it crosses any important waterways or anything!
Also stop writing articles about the unsung virtues of E36's until after I’ve bought one damnit, I don’t need you guys ratcheting the price up on any other old German cars I’m lusting after.
I’ve got an 885 cylinder head on my workbench that would go a long way towards making your e a bit quicker there Patrick!
I’d like to think the SRD’s I have in my E30 would do a better job of not coming apart than the stock sport seats. Not a whole lot you can do about that column winding up in your face/chest though.
What’s the story with the Mt. Washington Hill Climb? Does anybody know if they are running that next year?
No Sebring is worth dying for.
