I mean, I was just running with it.
I mean, I was just running with it.
Yes, let all those idiots under the age of 4 go the way of the dodo, they don't pay taxes.
I guess this is where we disagree—dedication, imo, can not be a talent, because where does that leave free will? If everything about his success can be attributed to things he was born with, then how is that success? Again, this feeds back into the "myth of the artist" :: the elusive soul who has been blessed by the…
Sure. But the point I have been trying to make (and clearly failing at it, so I accept that) is that it doesn’t matter who “had” the non-trademarkable name first, IG still released theirs first and MS was completely unphased by it in regards to their own product. but for some products/companies, that sort of thing…
“Don’t let your hyperlapse turn into a hyper oops”
From the Microsoft website [Emphasis mine]:
How have I doubled down on wrongness? Instagram beat Microsoft to the market with a similar app of the same name. That is a fact. Yes, I was unaware of hyperlapse being a broader category of video processing. BUT ALL I WAS SAYING, IS THAT IT WAS FUNNY TO ME (and maybe not to you), THAT MICROSOFT IS RELEASING A BETTER…
First of all, that video is awesome, thanks. But I would still wager good money that at least 98% of people have never heard of a hyperlapse.
I agree, however, Hyperlapse is not a common word. And in terms of branding a niche product, especially within the mobile marketplace, it’s ballsy to release an app with the same name as a large competitor with deeper market penetration.
Ahh, i didn’t know that. Branding-wise though, it is still kinda like two people showing up to a party wearing the same outfit. Was this tech developed in house you think? This feels like a capstone project turned job offer.
Well this is downright disrespectful. It’s one thing to call the technique the same thing, but to brand it with the same name? Petty. I see you Microsoft (and I kinda love it)
Yes! When I was in architecture/art school, I quickly realized that the best place for me to develop ideas was just by doing drawings. If I did any sketching, it always ended up being different in the final piece, so why bother?
Thanks! This confirms what I thought. I think there is a lot of confusion when I say sketch. I’m not talking about forming a rough image and then hard lining it, I am talking about the sort of free thinking/brainstorming visually he does in his sketchbooks.
What I am saying is that attributing his success to talent ignores the fact that he is a professional who has dedicated his life to this craft. Some people are better suited for certain types of seeing and learning, but that is actually a very very small part of this equation. There are plenty of talented people in…
It’s not about mocking up a rough version of the piece he intends to create, I’m talking about the time he spends on smaller pieces where he can hash out and develop new figures/composition ideas. After looking at his website, he most certainly does this, and in fact has some of his sketchbooks are published.
These drawings are amazing, but it’s sort of sensational to say “he doesn’t sketch”—i’m not familiar with his practice, but I very much so doubt that he does absolutely no pre-development work for these.
In a pure statistical sense, the dems have no reason to—i don’t have current hard numbers, but in total, the majority of citizens lean liberal. Where it becomes close is that it’s not the citizens that matter, it’s the voters, which skew to certain demographics, and therefore creates smaller margins in elections.
Is it possible for them to grow shellfish meat without the components that cause allergic reactions? If so, sign me up
It is a totally apt comparison because you’re talking about filtering based on physical characteristics that do not inherently correlate to mental characteristics. Filtering toys by age group is valid because a 2 year old is both physically AND mentally immature.
