Although you are right, there is a simpler explanation. As size increases equally in X,Y, and Z, surface area only increases by the square (X*Y of rotors for example), however the MASS is increasing by the cube (X*Y*Z). So if this craft is supposed to be 5x larger, the the surface area will have increased by (5*5=25x)…

Or you throw a turbine in there and get hours of runtime...

Gas in Europe is expensive because of of government taxation. If it were just strictly supply and demand, it would be as cheap as the US if not cheaper.

And so you have hit on the 100+yr old conundrum of electric cars. Gas is (and has always been) cheap. Batteries are not. Same as it ever was...
