You are correct about the rust. A lot of GM cars this age, maybe most of the in my area of the upper Midwest have their rear quarter panel around the gas filler rusted through from the inside out. It is like the panel was made of cheap toilet paper.

When I was in high school in Ames, Iowa in 1972 the Alvin Ailey company did a show for our student body. It was truly amazing!! They got a well deserved standing ovation from the students. It is one of the fondest memories of high school during a time of turmoil. I can’t wait to see the movie.
