It really annoys me when people want a group of people striking to start talking about their problems instead. Of course the voice actors are fighting their fight and complaining “but what about us?” to the VAs is just pointless, programmers should say “what about us?” to the companies. Also, it’s not their job to

these kids are growing up with superior user interfaces

This will be a cool option to explore in Team Fortress 3.

Well, I dunno if I’d call him a clown, since he probably had like a weekend to play through the game and do a writeup. Details matter but I dunno if I’d go so far as to call him names, the article hits all the high notes.

You are spouting nonsense, but that’s nothing new from you.

... what?

Seriously...I hate to be that guy but...how is it that gamestop is still in business? Between Best Buy’s Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Amazon Prime’s deals on games and also just being able to go ALMOST ANYWHERE to get games how is it that GameStop is still in business? I used to go there for all of my gaming needs until

Lara’s growth in reboot:

You’re bringing your own biases into a conversation where you discuss how you perceive everyone else to be biased towards crying “sexism.” And talking in odd hypotheticals, when really, this whole thing started because this woman wrote a goodbye letter.

Because one is a person talking under her full name whom we know for a fact is a developer that has worked with Sony in the publishing of a game, and the other is an avatar and a username. Doesn’t mean what she said is necessarily true, but, again, that alone give her words far more weight than whatever some rando on

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say it’s statistically likely she was discriminated against and say she could be lying in the same breath.

It sounds to me that he didn’t do that, but rather gave credit to a specific person instead that wasn’t her.

Once again, she’s not demanding that anyone take up the fight. Nowhere does it say, “You have to do this.” It only says that she is done and is leaving the fight, a fight that continues to be fought by others within the industry. She’s tired of dealing with it & wants to focus on other projects & her health—that’s it.

Which part are you referring to? The part where she says she, as someone who is ill enough to need to step away from the company, realizes that she’s tired & after all the setbacks just isn’t strong enough to keep fighting the sexism of the industry and hopes, not demands that the younger generation will have better

Yes, it is. He went out of his way to give the credit to someone else. Not the team, not a group or a collective of any kind, but a specific person who wasn’t involved at all. That is stated in the post.

Still braver and more credible than whatever some rando on Kinja has to say on the matter.

She lists specific examples of sexism within the industry, even one committed by her own husband. That she chooses to not throw everyone under the bus doesn’t make her a coward or a hypocrite. She’s doing what she needs to do: pulling away from the day-to-day of the business, while explaining why she feels the need to

She’s trying to be deliberately vague so as not to trash her company, which she & her husband still have a stake in, as do their friends & co-workers. That doesn’t mean her experience “means nothing.”

As she said:

This totally sucks, as she’s clearly talented and has obviously had a really bad time. Shame there’s no further details on Sony though, I was under the impression they treated indie studios really well.
