Oooh, give the audio book a shot. The voice acting is pretty damn good.

I kinda sorta wish they'd shown what happened to the kids. How long was he in that apartment for? A couple of days? Longer? Did they make it?
Yes, Clara walking away from a crying child should have been a sign, but for me, it was a companion saying "I think we need backup" AND actually leaving the hazardous situation and getting backup that made me realize she was a wrong'un.
You're expecting consistency *between* episodes?? With Doctor Who, I'm grateful if it hangs together more-or-less within one.
Overall, I really enjoyed this two-parter. I'm a fan of the bootstrapping paradox, and I think it worked to say right at the beginning of this episode "we're going to be bootstrapping" and then let the audience figure out how it was going to happen. Other strengths: strong cast, running in corridors, nice balance…
I took that as a sign that O'Donnell's death really wasn't necessary or fixed. Clara froze certain aspects of time by telling the Doctor about his "ghost", but O'Donnell's fate was still flexible, kinda sorta.
