I’m impressed. They managed to figure out how to make a Hummer look comparatively more stylish.

Just great. So now even cars can have epilepsy.
While that’s true, I felt that the audio recordings in System Shock 2 integrated into the game much better than the recordings in Bioshock did.
Big tires can help in that case, but big wheels don't.
Yeah, normally Valve acquires developers for the games they’re making. That’s clearly not the case here, which is unusual.
That’s the complete opposite to how Valve works. Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and DOTA are all the result of acquiring the studios that were developing them. Buying Campo Santo for reasons other than their existing IP is actually out of the ordinary for Valve.
Agreed. In my case, I used to live in the desert, where the summers were “holy shit!” hot, and the winters were biting cold, so for me both heating and cooling are very important—enough so that any car I buy must have both. When it’s 120+ outside, I really need effective AC, but when it’s cold enough out that pipes…
Parking uphill is no big deal. I’ve successfully roll-started a car in reverse before.
It’s also much harder to accidentally lock your keys in the car.
This was also true in the US at one point. The owner's manual for my Galaxie advertised backup lamps as an optional feature.
“ Lines that won’t need a paint shop, won’t need nearly as many of the robots to weld pieces together and probably most importantly won’t need as many human hands in the mix”
Damnit, Ripley, you have to stop doing that!
Not quite true. People who order the Valve Index headset or Index Controllers will also get Half-Life: Alyx free.
If Steam sent out hardware survey requests to 1 million Steam users per month, at Steam’s last reported active user base of 90 million, it would work out to one survey request every 7.5 years per user. Personally, I’ve received the survey request around a half dozen times over the lifetime of my Steam account. If the…
Given that there are several anemic Intel GPUs in the top 50, I’m pretty sure the same largely applies to AAA gaming as well. Even with VR being less tolerant of low performance than normal gaming, there are still over 25 million GPUs on Steam that can handle VR.
Games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Hitman 2, and Gears 5 recommend a somewhat more powerful GPU than Half-Life: Alyx is targeting. Somewhat older games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 7 were recommending GTX 1060 GPUs. If a $200 GPU is out of reach for people pursuing normal AAA gaming, chances…
I also realized there’s the ABS issue to consider. With ABS, hard braking can increase the likelihood of being rear-ended by a following vehicle that’s not equipped with ABS. Reducing the reaction time for hard braking causes the same effect if the following driver doesn’t use the same braking technique. Combine the…
On top of your cited reasons, there’s also a Jalopnik-specific reason. Asvocating a technique that makes people less capable of driving manual transmissions makes little sense for a site that routinely laments the increasing rarity of three-pedal cars.
My gaming groups would care if unfair dice were regularly screwing them over, but in decades of gameplay none of us have ever experienced this. Whether players provided their own sets or chose from several sets provided by the GM, the dice always acted normal.
Oh, that’s even worse. If I’d known about that team, I’d have been been blaming the wrong team for years before finding out the truth.
