The Fireman isn't his best, but Joe Hill is really great overall. A book similar to The Stand certainly isn't a bad thing.

We've really relaxed the definition of "underrated" if we're applying it to The Bourne Identity, a critically acclaimed box office hit that launched a massive franchise.

He was bland as hell in Godzilla, and he had the misfortune to be cast as Quicksilver after Evan Peters brought tons of effortless charm to the same role. That said, he was really good in Nocturnal Animals as a total skeeze. Hell, even Jai Courtney is really good in Spartacus.

I'm gay, and I'm not sure the desire to avoid thrusting elephant dicks is really gay panic. I think that's a pretty universal panic.

The previous My World of Flops entry had at least 900 comments. The damn Supper Club posts get 30 if they're lucky. But this column isn't popular enough to survive?

I love both Zac Efron and Doctor Who, and still that idea just made a blood vessel burst in my brain. Maybe we can do Guy Ritchie's Miss Marple starring Margot Robbie instead?

I guess this guy helps answer the question, "Is there any level of fame too low to get you verified on Twitter?" No, no there is not.

I'd probably knock this episode down to a B just for the "Watch yourself" and "You're treading on thin ice here, counselor!" TV lawyer cliches. It was one "I'll allow it…I want to see where this goes" away from the trifecta. Come on, Better Call Saul, you're better than that.

When I saw this trailer and it said "From the director of Sherlock Holmes", I thought huh…do they mean the TV show Sherlock? Then I suddenly remembered those two completely forgettable Robert Downey Jr movies existed, and wondered why this trailer would want to remind me of them.

Ooh boy, Ghost Rider was just on TV the other night. Back when Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, and Wes Bentley were headlining theatrical movies!

I also thought Riley was feeding Will mayonnaise there for a second. I was getting ready to barf.

I love everything and everyone involved with this headline. Also, De Palma's Passion is an underrated hoot.

I'll admit I find this argument a bit complicated. If you're casting a character who's just discovering they're trans and beginning to transition (like in this movie or Transparent), wouldn't casting an actor who's already fully transitioned make little sense? I can see how Transamerica and Twin Peaks are problematic,

I think aspects of Gotham definitely qualify as sci-fi. Though I think Ivy's mind matured along with her body? I'm not sure, I just know I find that plot delightfully wackadoo like many things on Gotham.

Ah yes, great sci-fi classic Splash.

The most tweeted about show of 2017…but it still can't get episodic reviews at The AV Club. Harrumph.

I may have let out a manly squeal when I saw GBBO: Masterclass on Netflix the other day. It felt like a gift from the gods.

I love this show so, so much, but it's a shame we don't have all the seasons here in the US. The early seasons had interesting educational asides about the history of baking that I really liked. It's fun to see how the show has evolved over the years.

Boy am I tired of the "check out the much better extended cut" defense of Zack Snyder movies…

Ryan Murphy was plenty involved in AHS: Asylum, so I'm not sure where you got that notion from.
