M’Benga was an Enterprise crew member on TOS. He didn’t appear often, but he was there when someone needed a Vulcan slapped multiple times. So much like Uhura, Spock, Kyle and even Sam Kirk, he’s not getting bumped off anytime soon.

I have to give honorable mention to Sam Kirk doing his best Guy Fleegman Freakout impression. I half expected him to yell out “WHATS MY LAST NAME?!”
Pouring one out for Hemmer. I really liked him, He was a great character and he was one of the few great non-Human or Vulcan characters to be a featured player. Having an Aenar Officer was a great idea and they could have done so much more with his character
Star Trek and Alien are two great tastes that mix together like Peanut Butter and Chocolate. That was a lot of fun. However a big problem with doing a Haunted House Killer Alien slasher riff is that Strange New Worlds suffers from Prequelitis. We know that of principal cast who beamed down onto the Planet that Pike,…
Freelancers! Protectors! Continuum!!
They really should have stuck with her getting killed. They could have made minor tweaks to episode 5 and called it a day and I woulda been like” That wasn’t bad”.
Did they ever plan to make her character interesting?
Apparently they went with the plan where she was run through the gut multiple times and doesn’t die, is always angry, murders troves of people but then has a change of heart and is trusted to not betray the location of the galaxy’s only hope.
I like this show, but this is sort of sad to me as it tosses out so much continuity & erases Kara (and Alex and J’onn and etc)
Of course this doesn’t work with Ramsey’s first appearance on S&L in season 1. In that episode he refers to Oliver by name and “all the others” insinuating that the they are all still on that Earth. He also refers to a “glowing box” which is the box that sent on the arch which saw him pop up on all the Arrowverse…
So instead of keeping it simple, they made it complicated.
on The Late Late Show with James Corden
All these clueless commenters saying “aw gee whyre you picking on Chris?” Because he belongs to a stupid, shitty church. Which people dont like. For good reasons.
Cool, cool... can we fast-forward to his drug abuse and burn-out already?
Breeders, eh?
I feel like the really good stuff for Phase 4 was in the Disney+ shows, not in the theater.
Did you not see the first episode?
He should be criticized for his work, and his identity is inseparable from that criticism. What’s concerning is the implication that he shouldn’t have ever been hired in the first place because he was not Black.
We’re getting to a pretty concerning place if non-black writers are never allowed to write black characters. There’s attempting to address imbalances and then there’s race-gating, which feels pretty gross.
Miles was created by a non-black writer and he never felt inauthentic.
