His criticism was a gift.

It’s subtle, but he’s right, and you’re arguing past eachother.

Good luck, even though I felt your florid use of language muddled your writing sometimes

To summarize, your idealistic and pure idea of criticism is apparently “objective subjectivity”. If every critic’s intent was as noble as yours, and every critic’s methodology as self-reflective, then that might be a more realistic ideal.

Nah. Keep playing Animal Crossing instead.  I'm gonna buy the remake eventually, but I'm in no hurry to play it

I’ve only played a couple of hours so far, but all the caveats he’s calling out are... yeah, real issues. I’m not loving this one, personally. I don’t think it’s terrible, but it’s not a particularly great game.

If he played the demo and hated it, well, my dude, he’s not gunna like the game.

I hated both FFXV demos and still got the game... And I hated it.

Yeah, not really comfortable trying to trick people into buying things they don’t want or need. Which is why I’ve always refused to work sales jobs.

Seems to me like he should just skip the game if he played the demo and didn’t like it.

Sounds like Eric knows bad writing when he sees it. We should encourage more gamers to hold games to higher writing standards. I say run far the other way, Eric.

If he played the demo and didn’t gel well with the combat system I don’t know why we should give Squenix free PR because it isn’t turn based. Also if one is concerned about a company’s business model I don’t know why us consumers should be clamoring to take the side of a said business. Not like they’re ever on our

It sounds like he just doesn’t want to play it. Why do we need to convince him? If he doesn’t want to and he didn’t really LOVE the demo, he’ll go into it prepared to be miserable if he does buy it.

Nah, man. He has every right to be wary about Square-Enix’s lack of transparency. He should hold off until they are more forthcoming about their plans.

Wolfenstein 3D had a nuanced and fair representation of Mecha Hitler.

I know a lot of people will disagree, but, yeah...having replayed Resident Evil 4 a few months ago, it’s as badly in need of a remake as Code Veronica. The game is ugly, clunky, poorly paced (the island section needs to get gone)...it’s just aged terribly all around.

I feel like Indiana Jones would’ve at least read the article before voicing his opinion...
