I don’t know why you wrote this whole column and then lightly brushed over the important part.

My brain is short-circuiting over half of the article’s premise, that The Force Awakens is somehow a ‘remix of essential American myths’. I cannot see how it can be described in any way essential, a myth, or even American.

There’s something ironic about using Hamilton to say “Immigrants: we get the job done”, since the actual Hamilton certainly didn’t consider himself as such and instead blamed immigrants for Jefferson winning the election.
