I would guess that the members already have a pretty good argument that a director publicly criticizing them is violating a contractual obligation to protect all their members, but I can imagine than any reformed RWA would more explicitly prevent public criticism by any officer or director of any member.

Think about how “trade associations” typically function as they relate to businesses and the RWA’s behavior makes complete sense.

I wonder what percentage of “gamers” actively participate in gaming culture?

well developers keep making the same bone-headed mistakes and a certain vocal minority of idiots keep complaining when they don’t

This is a part of the problem with wanting these types of professional associations to be instruments for any sort of change amongst the actual members of a profession. Historically they have always existed for the material gain of members, first and foremost.

Naw, they’ve been hip.

There is no “good” context or way to parphrase around this part of Warren’s statement:

Because Sanders, like many ideologues, will happily operate in good, bad or indifferent faith in pursuit of his goals.

It has nothing to do with her doctorate or her being in the conversation.

Your take is entirely too sensible.

Warren saying it is a non-issue to her personally and it being a non-issue are not the same thing.

Bernie Sanders telling Elizabeth Warren he doesn’t think a woman can win (which is exactly what she said he said) is not a non-story, no matter how much you want to pretend it is.

Anonymous sources are not necessarily bad sources for a story. They are less than ideal, but sometimes it’s also the only viable way to get a very newsworthy story.

Naw.

Ye Gads, is full-on gaslighting really the way Splinter Jezebel wants to go on this?

You think she would straight up lie about that conversation?

The former is intentionally misconstruing a statement to fuel righteous indignation.

Well, I guess it’s safe to say that this PAC will not ultimately wind up supporting any efforts by Ocasio-Cortez to run for President in later elections.

Using tactics that Saint Bernie has sworn off of in an effort to retain some sort of moral highground.

And now Warren has confirmed that this is how she remembered the conversation.  Tonight should be interesting.
