Just labeling a character "insane" so you don't have to explain their actions is pretty lazy writing… it's just like calling the bad guy "evil" without explaining their motivations.

I didn't buy Lizzie's delusion at all. I don't care how nuts a character is, this is a story and therefore their nuttiness should make sense and have a point.

I don't know whether that was great planning or luck on Tony's part, but it seems like Lindsey's personality is reinforcing Tony's lie. Lindsey seems to have a trash-talking sense of humor, but that's now being interpreted by Sarah as aggression.
