I agree about 'safety in numbers.' My daughter was an only, and I just couldn't risk it. Plus, we lived in a city environment, not a suburban neighborhood.
My daughter was not allowed to roam around on her own a child. It was simply not safe. The freedom I had a child of the 70's was not enjoyed by her, a child of the 90's.

My daughter was a veggie for many years, so I learned to cook many favorites without *any* animal products. For example, all my awesome homemade soups were based on vegetable broth, rather than chicken, beef, or fish.
It's best for both parties to be onion and garlic lovers, so you can cancel each other's breath out. ;-)

"Boiled" vegetables should not be boiled to the point of squishiness—they should be steamed or, if boiled, only for a bit so the veggies retain most of their crunchiness—just enough boiling to take them from that level of "raw" to "cooked."
