Maybe because the reasons my grandfathers and those of their generation fought for are being dismissed out of hand by a large segment of the population who are upset they don't have it better than everyone else.

? I hate them both. I'm confused over why you'd only hate one. One is a bad character on a bad show with a terrible narrative. The other is a bad character on a bad show with a terrible narrative. Sure one is ostensibly good and the other is ostensibly bad (though with an obvious built in redemption arc), but I still…
I'm glad they aren't alive today. I think they'd be sad to see what has happened to this country… this world. Like it was all for nought. Every couple of generations its like we need a great big fight just to remind people how terrible fighting really is.
I am not referring to that specifically, which was an interesting debate but the actual strategic manuevering and the debates over who would go where in North Africa first. Plus reading his autobiography and then reading Montgomery's leads you to two very different accounts of events in Egypt alone.
you must be new here?
probably because Quentin seems to think he is part african american and so its okay to be a raging asshole in regards to specifically african american concerns and derogatory language. Eugh, I never want to see that guy do interviews again. Make films, let me enjoy them… and shut the hell up!
No no! Be like me, fight ignorance whenever you find it… and welcome information that is new to you as well. That way we all grow for the better!
I dont think anything shuts up true fanboys. Logic fails them. I will say I've liked (but not LOVED) every single one of Nolan's films. He, Wright, and a few rare other directors like Gunn have my everlasting admiration even if I don't LOVE all their films.
That was back when the Punisher was still Shane, so everyone still hated him. Remember everyone forgot who Shia was because of the paper bag. I bet if that film came out today he would have been the most unlikable one.
interesting, does that take into account reusing it?
lol
that and the other assassination theories… and plots to use british nobles to overthrow the government… all interesting reads … but Hitler definitely did put too much effort into unattainable strategies.
I LIKED Fury, but found aspects of it to be ridiculous. Namely the whole subplot regarding the french girl was just way too on the nose. Remove that and I would say it was really good. As it was, I found that to be a bit too much. (At the very least they could have included it.. and had the rubble… but showing us her…
what is funny is most of the people who left the theaters after ESB left complaining about the movie hahah. That is a film that definitely has gotten better reviews and acclaim over time, its a true peculiarity.
I don't think his ego would have let him surrender haha. They would have needed to kill him first. (Hence some german plots to use irish separatists for JUST that). Though I could have sworn Churchill did overrule his generals - primarily in regards to events regarding leadership and strategic plans when the Americans…
Churchill was a complicated man who attributed the success of the allies almost purely to himself. His ego was extraordinary and he made a vast number of crucial mistakes (similar to hitler he was very hands on) but no one can deny that his spirit was a huge boost to the morale of the UK.
my other grandfather served flying torpedo planes and scout planes for the RNZAF … but my father lived during Vietnam and joined the peace corps specifically to avoid fighting for a cause he didn't believe in (and then got caught up in a civil war in Borneo where he defended a village against insurgent forces just his…
I wish I could remember more, but honestly he died in the 1990s when I was a kid. I can't remember much (but I seem to remember this day crystal clear because it was the first day he talked about the war with me). I called my mom and told her about the reviews of this film and how I want her to come with the rest of…
be more harsh. Almost there.
youtube critics. Hah.
