I get catcalled a fair amount in NYC, mostly on the annoying/fairly innocuous end of things BUT when I lived in the Dominican Republic it was relentless and sometimes disturbing. One night on the guagua a whole row of drunk middle aged men were just being so nasty and, assuming I didn't speak Spanish, just laughing

HA! I failed to mention I said that part in my head. My actual words were something like "Well everyone's entitled to an opinion, so good luck with that." Which I guess is sufficiently snarky. He's a dum dum 19 year old, either he'll figure it out or he won't.

Gahhh! I'm so bad at on-the-spot comebacks, but this is the perfect response and I will keep it my back pocket!

This reminds me, I rode on an elevator the other day with a young-ish dude, maybe 19 years old. I'm tall, about 5'11, which the kid immediately pointed out. He was tall too, probably the same size as me. Then he continued "Yo, but I don't like when girls are tall. Naw, I don't like that at all. Girls should be shorter

Hey Aisha! Just yesterday I listened to the episode of Girl on Guy where you interviewed your dad and wow, what a cool dude. That's it, no question, just wanted to tell you that.

I know this might not ring any bells with the majority of you, but my husband has long held a torch for Sonia Silvestre, a nueva trova singer from the Dominican Republic. He doesn't care much for celebrities at all, but he has a real love and respect for this woman, and it is really touching to hear him speak of her

I love them too, no shame in my game. I think they got lumped in with that easy breezy 70s pop (which, OK, that's kinda their thing) and tend to be brushed off by music snobs, but she really had talent and her voice is exquisite.

Karen Carpenter's isolated vocal tracks. Her voice, it cuts right through me. Makes me want to cry and laugh, just feel everything all at once.

Shameful lack of Brittney Griner love in these comments. She is perfection. Have you seen this Lindy?

Maybe not "yous guys" but definitely "yous" (pronounced "yuhs") as in "Are yous hungry for lunch?" Have you never been to South Buffalo?

Some time in the mid-late 70s my family (minus me, I was still just a twinkle) were driving from Buffalo to Cape Cod for summer vacation. They stopped at a Howard Johnson near Ithaca for lunch. This happened to be the summer when John Lennon and Yoko Ono "went missing" for a month or so. They made no public

I'm sorry, but wet tampon?

Congrats! New love feelings are the best! Such an exciting and bubbly time! About a month into our relationship my man and I were snuggling and talking about family memories and such and I think it was at that moment I really knew it was love love. The next morning on the way to work I just kept repeating in my head

"MO-nuhhh!"

Chris Koo, I'mma let you finish but this is the best Beyonce cover video of all time! (And seriously, all props to Chris Koo, your moves bring me serious joy)

My man and I are engaged, but we find ourselves using "husband" and "wife" to refer to each other (outside of conversation with friends and family)..at the dry cleaner, when making appointments, talking to utility companies etc. We've made the commitment, we just need the paper. And it will happen in the near future
