Dad stuff does it for me. Costner and his Dad having a catch at the end of Field of Dreams, a frail Michael Keaton embraced by his Dad in My Life. A woman telling Scout to stand, Atticus is walking by after he loses his case. Tom Cruise fighting not to cry as his hateful Dad dies in Magnolia. Those do it.

Dont worry. It doesn't last long.

I’m not being argumentative.  The shot didn’t stand out to me as a LOTR shot because it’s a pretty common shot for “groups on an adventure” movies. If it did for you and the OP, great.

Oh.  The Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Magnificent Seven, Seven Samurai, Bridge Over River Kwai, Stand By Me, Dirty Dozen, Uncommon Valor shot.  I see.

My guess is that they’ll do a suburb commuter train somewhere. I dont know if there’s any high speed commuter trains in the US. Still to Busan? Sure. Why not? Train to Tucson? Ok too. Train to Mulan? Train to Vince Vaughn?

Here's hoping it's better than Peninsula...or the Old Boy remake. But I'm interested.

Its the M*A*S*H of weekly comedy news shows. Shrill is a very good word to describe Oliver's delivery on occasion .

I DID watch one recent ep where Grace was going up a high rise with another dude.  I thought it was okay, but seemed unconnected to anything.  I’ll give it a try, and not hold it against you, should I hate it.

fYes. The scene literally is him staring intently at the teens while they talk to him. He doesn’t say one word. He does yell once, while fighting. So, technically, he says AHHHHHH!!!! in the film. When this happens, I assumed it was to fulfill some sort of SAG thing where he actually has his voice on the soundtrack.

Wait.  FtWD is a GOOD show?  I gave up in S2.  Are you saying it’s worth watching?

Hey kimothy, first of all, nice chatting with you.

That idea matches with the old sci fi ideas like Earth Abides and a World Out  of Time, for sure. I like the idea of it.

I mean. ...have you ever spoken to a New Yorker?

Sorry that Dark Tower tie in didn’t show up for you, bud. Throw it on the pile with not paying off Nick, or Tom's escape, or Stu's journey home, or the dozen other failures . Maybe it was best not to hit that other story with this brush anyway

I mostly agree with your take here. But I have to say that Flagg reflexively mind-shooting that guy’s head off was a neat way to show the Hovitos that he was a force to be reckoned with.

To my mind, they specifically styled the body paint of that tribe to be like scant photos of uncontacted tribes in the Amazon. I took it to mean he respawns in the same timeline in the jungle. This is my own head canon, and based on little evidence.

Thanks for noting, subtly, that even the opening titles were stupid. It bugged me the whole time, but I couldn’t find a legit way of working it into my many other complaints

Yes. I agree that policing would be a far better choice than drifting to a bitterly cold place to set up shop. I also agree that Boulder wouldn’t turn into Mogadishu even as the old crimes were again committed. I just dont think it would take a long time for crime to re appear.

True...and the committee they all elected to help with that either died or up and left.

Ok. That’s fair. The book world.
