I agree that she's outspoken... but almost none of her suggestions are accepted  and she reverses herself to fall in line at every turn.

I decided to follow your back trail and watch 1994 as well. MUCH better. The weird, constant, irritating folksy music over EVERYTHING is off putting, though.

Yeach, Nadine is supposed to come back to herself close to the end and tell Flagg that the four are on their way and it’ll be his end. He didn’t know untilshe told him. She looks like she’s still onside with him in this version. A major change which may be interesting.  Given the rest of the show, though....

I’ve never been an actor, but I can see that boredom would be a big thing. We light for half an hour. They come in and act for ten minutes, then we light for another half hour.....or so. That’s not enough time to do anything of note in the trailer or green room, but too much time staring off into space.  It’s even

I agree that Teague played VERY broad with his fake bon homie in this version.  To be fair, though, King describes Book Harold’s smiling as overthetop as well.  Several characters mention just how weird his smiling is , one worrying that if his smile got any broader, it would meet around the back of his head and his

I appreciate the refresher on protagonist/antagonist vs hero/villain. I do sometimes focus too much on the the latter.

I haven’t been paying attention; is Owen King a bigger contributor to this show than merely writing an ep? I worked with Joe Hill on an unaired pilot for the attempted revival of Tales From the Darkside. Those kids really seem to have made a cottage industry out of the old man.

Not for Teague

There was some discussion about that tree branch being CGI onthe ep discussion page. I guess it wasn’t. I like that Teague, himself, wasn’t sold on Harold being the protagonist.  He certainly got most of the focus, though.

Ive been working with actors for almost 30 years. They tend to be pampered whether they want to be or not. Lying on the ground for ten minutes at a time(in between times they get heaters, tents, comfy chairs, and fancy coffees) can appear to be a hardship to them. Subjectivity. And one has the urge to punch up an

Again, correct. There is a passage where Trash recovers the bomb, but it’s all on his own. No one sent him for it. It was just the biggest weapon he could think of as a gift to the Walking Dude.

THIS Flagg seems to have no plan.  Hes like the unruly punk brother to the book Flagg.

Eexactly correct.  Somebody accidentally uses one of the taunts he weathered as a kid. He slips a gear and blows up a fuel truck to get even. Flagg issues a kill order on him. He gets an A bomb to make amends. Hes mostly dead when he returns with it.

One could argue that he--and Glen and Larry-- play NO part in Flagg's end.  But Ralph does suddenly get featured after spending most of the story as a Spear Carrier.

I agree with this. Hes also the character that they took farthest off the reservation from the original material... but to no great purpose or intent, it seems

Re reading the book right now. Reaching the end with Stu’s journey home. The part where MA gives the instructions in the book is actually pretty close. She does say that she’s in the way of knowing that one of them will fall and not complete the journey.  Her phrasing in the book is very cagey and DOES describe events

Yes. Just doing a reread here. Tom & Kojak are currently helping Stu home. Yep. Frannie’s contribution to the story is keeping notes, diaries and meeting minutes...and boning Stu..... and being the Mother Of The Future . It’s been a strange re read after all these discussions. She doesnt get much else to do.

The one where four people are walking together? One didn't stand out for me. Which one stood out for you?

That is exactly it.

I disagree. As it happens I’ve just gone slightly past the Free Zone explosion in my re read today. We get the ability to see inside Harold’s head and there a number of times when he ALMOST convinces himself to change his course. There is good in him that could get out. We get to choose his voice in our head and
