Literally the basis of the first movie is that Ted’s father demands excellence from his slacker son. Bill’s is getting laid on the reg, so maybe doesn’t care so much.

The comparison is apples to apples. I would say that movie critics have criteria even though they deal with subjective media. I would say that teachers, while having criteria, also include a substantial helping of subjective opinion when they grade. I disagree that getting an A+ means you just followed the…
Solid point. She’s actually owed that kind of looping picture.
Hey asshole. The look on her face is not her looks. Read a fucking book. If the most attractive dude in the world came up with Blue Steel on his face, one could call that a stupid look. So shut your fucking cake hole. You dumb jerkoff. I did NOT shame her looks.
It has the word Dragon in it and is a mystical thing. Not my bag anymore. That was enough information to not be arbitrary. Also, people decide not to watch hundreds of things a day. Do you systematically go through your Netflix account watching everything? No. You make a quick decison often based on the picture.
I wish Ms. Tran the best. She didn’t deserve the shit she had thrown at her and I hope she gets more projects and crushes them. Congrats to her.
For reference: If you brought home a C+ book report and showed your Mom, would she say “Hey! That’s pretty good! Keep it up, sonny boy!”
I agree that it’s a tired trope. You’d think they’d be tired of the “mousy, frizzy haired scientist lady” thing. It’s as cheap as the “hot chick who wears glasses and that makes her a nerd for half the movie” gag of the 80s.
The latter is the way I read it. They were looking one way, and he, being a super soldier, snuck onto the log. I mean, if you think about it, it’s dumb for him to sneak over there and then face away from them until they notice him. He came all the way over there just to play coy? But that’s how it must have happened,…
I think Gallagher, who plays 5, DID play 5 at Ben’s funeral. I don’t have the ep in front of me, but I’m purty shur.
At absolute best.
Sean Bean is playing it just right. Being a working character actor lasts for ever. You seldom get a behind-the-scenes spotlight put on you. You can show up, chew the scenery for a couple of days, then be off for a while as the star does their thing, then show up again for a few more days. If the movie tanks, you…
Allison?
In timeline context, that sort of makes sense. It tried a full frontal assault when it first came out of the ice. That didn’t get it very far. So when it gets to the US site, virtually back where it started from, it tries being stealthy and tricky.
I came here specifically to make sure someone said Career Opportunities, and all that it provides as a visual experience.
I saw this last night. It is a major step down from the original (but miles better than the cartoon). TTB had a pretty original premise and the zombies were scary. That zombie choreography was spectacular. Like all zombie media where the zombie rules have been established, though, the creatures turn into environment,…
Knowledge is it’s own reward
So - the “equal” part of the statement is not accurate. You’re looking for an argument, but I don’t care if you did or didn’t like the books. You do you. Subjectivity in art means arguments are wasted. Sorry the books didn’t work out for you. It’s great you liked the show. The show is a much tamer version of the books.
I don’t share that opinion. But that’s not my point. The books are far grittier and grimmer than the show. The deaths and events far more gruesome. The atmosphere for more dour and fatalistic.
Good article. My only quibble is that Ennis’ comic series is FAR more dark and grungy and gross than the show. The show is like a Bowdlerized Lenny Bruce set compared to the books.
