There is, but Hollywood and New York have absolutely no idea how to portray us. I grew up in an incredibly diverse metropolitan area— not Chicago— and regularly heard other languages as a normal part of my day.

The problem I have is that you deliberately see only the forest instead of the trees, and it doesn't make sense.

Who is this "we"? It's 2013. Most white people in this nation immigrated within the last century off a boat.

Look, you're going to invent practical time-travel before you pierce the cultural narrative invented by over-educated people on the east coast. They need that story to be true for a number of reasons.

Thank heavens racism is a white-people-only problem. That really narrows down the problem.

Believe me, it's even more strange when you leave southeast Michigan for another state. Today someone said, "WF in Detroit!" to me, and it took a few minutes before I realized they were telling me this because I'm from the area.

I can honestly say that our elected (or appointed, as the case may be) officials have really convinced me of my own ethos. I don't care if you have an affair, or if you have a coke habit, or if you want to text pictures of your dick to another consenting adult. I just want you to be a good politician.

There are two things that I wonder about:

There's an ignored side to the story, which is simply: Insurance companies will give you jack shit for real treatment.

Eh. I hate smelling smoke as much as the next person— allergies, take it as you will— but this is an extension of basic decency. I do not understand why smoking is banned in bars; that strikes me as ridiculous.

No, it is not a "midwest" thing. I think it might be more specifically just a generic way to cope with the fact that there are a lot of kids vastly "overgeared" for the system, to using a gamer's terminology. How the hell do you decide on one valedictorian when you literally cannot distinguish between fifty students?

I did not read the column. Not because I disagree with any sentiment, nor because I am here defend comic books.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if other people are using a term to describe you, it may be true regardless of whether or not you yourself agree with it.

'Bitch' is by far a better thing to be than someone who admits to believing something without knowing why. We have other, far worse terms of people like that.

So what peer-reviewed, primary literature published data provided irrefutable data correlating cancer, sterility and GMOs?

As genetic engineering is concerned, it is not a virus that is used. It is a plasmid, or a small circular piece of DNA used in conjunction with restriction enzymes to incorporate a segment of DNA into other DNA. And then into the germline cells.

If you cannot fully and completely iterate an argument you allowed to convince you of one position, you have no business whatsoever holding to that position.

You would have to label all food, everywhere, as "GMO". Whether you used recombinant DNA to introduce a desired trait into corn, or you opted for the species of corn that grows the tallest, it's GMO.

I consider people other than myself when in public. I am patient and do not hurry others. I am quiet and go out of my way to not disturb other people. I clean up after myself, I work very hard, and I ask for extremely little in return.
