Tonberry is a great answer for a pet. They're so cute. And deadly.

I was considering starting with Bloodborne just to squeeze a little more use out of my PS4 before having to hop back a generation, but the top hat cinches it.
It's a huge, huge bummer because it's a really great quest up to that point. Supposedly the Steam version actually works for some players, but everyone else on every platform is having the same problem, and has been having the same problem for weeks, with entire major patches coming and going without addressing it.…
Yeah, I understand the shtick of the Souls games is "tough but fair," meaning that if you have a solid grasp of the rules and play well you'll stand a good chance of surviving. I'm not necessarily looking for something that'll grind me into the dirt like the bug I am, but a game that successfully maintains an engaging…
Ooo, a new game plus could be what the doctor ordered. Actually, after beating the game the first time I got a little pop-up message saying that I could go back an finish old quests, but that the world might be populated with "strong monsters" now, so I suspect that a few high-level baddies get sprinkled throughout…
Yeah, I've looked into Windows emulation but it seems like such a pain in the arse, and there isn't even all that much that I'd use it for besides playing Civ. The next time I get a craving I just no longer have the strength to resist I'll hit you up.
I do tend to much prefer the diplomatic peacenik options in games (Paragon here) so a Civ title with a more diplomatic bent sounds up my alley. I'll have to check this out.
Weird. I'll take another crack at it this weekend, thanks for the heads up.
Interesting. I've tried playing Civ 2 with DOSbox before but could never get it to work. I thought at first that I was downloading the Windows version of the game and trying to run it through DOS, but the more I looked the more I couldn't find any official confirmation that Civ 2 ever even got a DOS release. You run…
So I'm two or three good nights' worth of effort away from finishing my second trip through The Witcher 3. Going well. Even on the highest difficulty, I'm finding that I understand the systems well enough and can play well enough that it's been ages since I really felt the burn. As long as CDPR is committed to keeping…
I'm jealous. I've been trying to find a low-effort method of running Civ 2 on my desktop for ages, but haven't yet found one. Civ 2 is the only Civ game I ever really got into, everything from that point on just had too many plates to keep spinning for my tastes. I played that game so often that I could power through…
Back when I first played the games my favourite was Sandshrew. I don't even know why, really, he wasn't even all that useful. I think I got unrealistically high expectations for him from that episode of the show where that really harsh trainer has a Sandshrew that's a total killing machine.
This is not the only thing I've done that has been described as "deeply depressing."
It seems like you've already committed to Alpha Sapphire, and for decent reasons, but consider this: in Pokémon Y, you can visit boutiques and buy new little outfits for your trainer. You can wear a little t-shirt and sneakers when you start your journey, then put your hard earned money towards a nice pair of hiking…
The HMs are one of the worst handled aspects of the entire Pokémon series and I honestly don't know why they haven't been completely reconsidered. There would be loads of ways to fix this—have the HMs just be items that can be used, give 'mons dedicated HM slots separate from their main move pool, give 'mons inherent…
You shoulda gone with Yumi then. Her S-Link is kinda melodramatic, and she gets reeeeeally clingy in a hurry, but she's not all bad.
I love Fuuka's S-Link. She spends the entire thing trying to get better at cooking, and in the end even actually kinda pulls it off, but when you max out her Link she's just like "fuck it, cooking's for nerds, I want to be a mechanic"
I was hoping to get another complete playthrough of Persona 4 in before Persona 5 came out, but there's so much coming out in the next little while that I don't know if I'm going to have the time to play a 100-hour RPG in anticipation of another 100-hour RPG. Plus, I would want to explore the other S-Links and…
Yessssssss, dooooooooo.
(Final Fantasy IX spoilers ahead if for some reason you haven't played that game yet but care enough about maybe still doing it some day that you don't want plot information ruined for you, but if that's the case you should honestly just play it you can get it on PSN for like a few bucks, but anyway)
