Man, "fandoms" bum me the fuck out. I really worry about people who love something so intensely and single-mindedly that they end up hating it.

There was a funny/depressing GameFAQs forum post making the rounds a while back in which some chud was complaining that Bioware was betraying "their audience" because there were only two love interests in Inquisition for straight men, and he personally didn't find either of them attractive. Which is pretty abominable…
This site is so fucking weird sometimes.
Anders is kind of a weird guy. He seems like a completely different character between Awakening and II. In Awakening he was a vaguely flirtatious, dashing rogue type who acted like his constant game of Tom And Jerry with the Templars was this big amusing understanding they had, like "oh you got me again, teehee, I…
Yeah, it was difficult for me to put into words, but even though they aren't that different superficially, II manages to feel more action oriented and "in the moment," while Origins is more about doing stuff on the back end, planning ahead, and only making little adjustments during actual combat. I respond better to…
That is exactly identical to how my fight with the Arishok went down, except that I was a dual wielding rogue. I had the good sense to go into the fight with something like 30 fire grenades, so for me the fight consisted of throwing a grenade at him, hoping to christ it would hit him, and then running around like a…
Hello dearest friends, every one of you is beautiful both inside and out. This weekend I will be continuing my already almost finished journey through Dragon Age II, and have come to share some of my thoughts so far.
Maybe Inquisition's default state makes more sense than I give it credit for, but having now played Origins, I don't even remember what the "default" outcomes are for a lot of its choices. I don't really remember who was on the Ferelden throne, and the Warden you chill with during the Warden missions is just some guy,…
Favourite that you actually get some semblance of control over: Shepard and Traynor. Ultimate reason to play FemShep.
When I played Inquisition I used the default world state, and I'm glad now that I did, because I can go into Origins and II relatively blind. It kind of coloured my expectations for Origins, since in the back of my mind I kept thinking of Inquisition's default state as what "really" happens, and any choice I made that…
I love her reaction when you give her the nug. She calls it a "subterranean bunny rat" as if that makes it sound appealing or desirable in any way.
But I was a city elf! I didn't kill dozens of noble human rapists on my way out of the ghetto just to end up shoulder to shoulder with another would-be noble with no respect for my boundaries!
When you say identical, are we talking original Mass Effect levels of environment re-use? Better than that? Worse? If it's that bad or better, I'm sure I'll be fine. The Mass Effect clone areas at least had the decency to be relatively small and innocuous.
Actually, I experimented with those very gifts myself in the early running, and was fucking kicking myself for having squandered Alistair's gift so early in the game instead of saving it for an emergency like this. In a panic I bought another gift from the salesman and gave it to Alistair, but it was one of the joke…
Go to your room!
I actually almost ditched Leliana to pursue the Zevran romance when he joined. I always have a soft spot for the characters who seem to know that the stories they're in are fuckin' weird. Plus, after Alistair went nuclear on me, Zev and Sten were probably my closest homies, and Sten isn't exactly the romantic type.
No kiddin'.
Hey bud, two Dragon Age threads are better than one.
Oh my God, Merlin, you and I are playing exactly identical games of DA: Origins and having the exact same response to it. I, too, found the combat straddling the halfway point between annoying and boring, and only started to have actual fun when I dialed the difficulty down to Casual. I, too, thought there was way too…
Hello my darling children, I am the luckiest person in the world because all of you are my very best friends. Last week I finally, after well over 100 hours, conquered Dragon Age: Inquisition. After that, I was planning on taking a break, playing some Shadow of Mordor, maybe finally downloading Transistor and giving…
