I don't know, between Meantime, Naked, Vera Drake, and Another Year (sort of,) I think there's a case to be made for Mike Leigh: Master Misery-Guts. His films are very understanding and compassionate on the whole, absolutely, but there does tend to be a streak of misery in even his most cheerful work.

Sally Hawkins should be a fucking VY Canis Majoris sized superstar. Godzilla is going to feature Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and fucking Godzilla, but I'm honestly just as excited to see Sally Hawkins, Hawkin' it up in a Hollywood blockbuster.
