Cars on the Mind

I live in Colorado and have a digital ID in addition to my physical ID. I have used it at whole foods/local liquor stores to buy beer and such when forgetting my physical ID. I have also used it once when fly fishing to show the ranger alone with my fishing license as the wallet was in the car. So I rarely use it but

2015 LX570: the fact that I get 13.5mpg average and that fact that I need to really hold down that brake pedal to avoid slowly moving forward at a stop light... this might be a thing I need to address with a fluid change or something of the sort.

Just buy them some all wheel drive Subaru. It will be decently cheap to own and get decent gas mileage, be safe as AWD and be slow.

I’d rock a Range Rover or LX570 (200 series), it’s subtle and not too much. Anyone who shows up in their Ferrari or equivalent is looking to impress people and it’s coming off like you’re insecure. The other cars let’s people know you have found success and like to ride in comfort but it’s for you... not them. The

I am not being a smart ass but the sentiment that disliking ricers is racism I don’t understand. In the US at least it might be classism? I don’t think a certain race dominates the culture, or am I out of the loop? Again this is coming from a US perspective.

I know ads are a necessity... paying the bills and all. That said they take 75% of my page at least for the first 20 seconds or so on the page. That banner ad that serves me at the top drives me nuts.

This all day, it takes all the fun outta the job. And by job, I mean commenting. I just gave up awhile ago... but since I see Bob blessing some people. Let’s give it a try.

Consider they didn’t buy at current inflated values. Nothing to live in an $80K home for a decade and have it be worth $350 today. That said real estate prices say that’s lower middle class today.

I am not as technical as the engineers(?) below but... how is a large piece that if damaged requires extensive repair beyond the value of a car different than say a frame?

Do they get to take losses on those years they don’t sell them as well? TSLA goes down 10% and he loses $30B does he get a carry forward on the loss? It’s a silly idea, they can just go buy art, real estate, whatever doesn’t get a yearly valuation and dodge some more. Either way when they realize earnings/income they

F1 LM all day. The best looking version of a revolutionary car. Not a long tail guy and the front fascia is a bit soft on the “standard” car.

I have driven this (the correct direction) in a JL Rubicon (Overkill). The baby Bronco could probably get it done with some scraping and good line choices. The driver seems to not have been capable of either. I can not tell you enough though how obvious it is you shouldn’t be going up this trail from Telluride. I worry

They are expensive but look at a 911 Turbo compared to the next fastest non electric vehicle... it’s a good deal. Then consider the next fastest vehicle requires crazy maintenance that exceeds that of the 911. Again, not a bad deal. I wouldn’t say overrated.

I will say I owned a JK and JL Wrangler. I had taken them both to Moab and several trails. They are goats... but the thing that drove me buts is all the auto publications acted like the JL was leaps and bounds better than the JK as it relates to on-road manners, it wasn’t true. It’s marginally better... I guess...

Eat the rich, amirite? Regardless of where his source of income comes from, good for him. I hope he is a better person for the time spent there.

Hard to do much right these days. I think in many instances once you see someone living very differently than you it generally opens your eyes to their struggle... or in some cases their lack of struggle with much less than you. After I spent time in rural areas of Vietnam my politics changed greatly upon returning to

Careful there, you’re going to alienate your current colleagues. Jalopnik might have to credit Elon with something good here.

Only people as cult like as the “Muskers”, are the anti-Muskers. Reading the comment section here is like reading a political forum... with all the silly names for other people, example musker=libtard.
