Cars on the Mind

Why does going to school for engineering make you an engineer but the actual practice of engineering items doesn’t? I think you’re putting the value of the formal education side a bit high. Elon clearly self studies and has learned plenty from others, seems fairly safe to assume much more than many “engineers” who

Your responses to every comment on here are childish.

It seems dumb, but I will hold off judgement until I use it. I try my best not to shun change for the simple fact I am used to the old way of doing it. That said, it might suck.

I love cars but candidly only change my oil/wipers/filter and brake pads. Past that point I do pay for work. Though I go through the quote with a fine tooth comb as you have to determine what’s rational and in some cases... real. Though I am no where near as automotively inclined as you, so I am sure I still get hosed

Every time I read, change xyz “and I’ll buy it” I almost lose my mind. You wouldn’t buy that car, which is okay. Let’s just stop pretending that enthusiasts would buy every car if only they were all stick with solid axles, or in this case designed ever so slightly differently.

I agree Tesla is overvalued. As with all companies the reason their price is a multiple of their earnings is you pay for future earnings. Hence a industry average of 15x price to earnings. To everyone’s point though, the amount of earning Tesla has to do to justify its price is huge. It’s certainly possible but

Really overstating, “really technical” here

It’s beautiful. Funny enough it was this or the Tesla Model 3 for us and we now own the Tesla. I much prefer the Volvo in every aspect outside the powertrain.

Tesla model 3 Long Range AWD? It’s $50K, fast, fun, and has AWD. Still different today, though maybe not for long.

For those “non-average” days where you need more than 300 miles of range there are super chargers that charge very effectively and relatively quickly. They aren’t as fast as gas pumps but again they are for the non average days. I have a model 3 at the moment and it’s easy enough. Though I will say I also have a

Sandy Cohen from the OC, he drove a 7 series, he was a man of the people though and totally should have rocked a Volvo... and probably an old one.

Do we know that this takes place in 2019/2020. I may have missed it but couldn’t this be from 2004 or something? Would solve for a lot of the issues you pointed out.

A way to bypass the downtown area... like a highway of sorts?

Am I the only one who wants to know what that flash of light was across the screen 1 second into the video? It seems like the bigger deal here.

I saw an E46 posted below but no E36. I am not going to say the above is done in terrible taste but finding an unmolested one is getting harder and harder. Just simple things like clear corners are on every one. I wouldn’t say its ruined the car but I like to buy my used cars stock.

Having a loaded gun in a car is illegal? Laughable, I have a concealed carry license I can walk around with a loaded gun in the state of PA anywhere I want (some exclusion may apply, my car not being one). State laws differ but you’d be incorrect thinking this is a “federal offense”.

I’m not going to argue that Dave is correct here because I think it completely depends on the interest rate you are given as well as many other factors. With interest rates at record lows I would suggest the loan isn’t a bad deal and you can probably earn more on your money elsewhere with little risk.

The Skyline owner is more approachable than your average Ferrari owner. People probably feel if you give the guy in a Ferrari attention thats what he wants... and no one wants to feed the ego (true or not). The Skyline feels more of an everyday mans sport car albeit a mythical cool one.

I live in Philly and I am volunteering my services to drive the Skyline. I DD a Wrangler so a Hummer “might not be as off putting”. Also in for off-roading video.

This pending approval thing that keeps happening is really weighing on my self confidence as of lately.
