There's no guarantee that Zoicite and Kunzite will be gay in this version (they weren't in the original manga, or in PGSM). They really could choose to go either way with that relationship in this new series. If they kept the pairing for the new anime, I'd be happy; however, I also really enjoyed the Kunzite/Sailor

Considering they're based on Atwood novels, and Atwood writes some of the most brilliant female characters ever seen, I would have to agree with you. It would be an absolute shame if the show completely centered on Snowman.

I'm a HUGE Atwood fan (discovered her when I was probably fifteen or so) and will say that Oryx and Crake was a bit hard for me to get into to start. That said, there's definitely a "hooking point" where suddenly you can't put it down. I think I've read it two or three times, now, and it still never fails to terrify

You seem to be confusing sex with gender. Sex is biological, and gender is not. (And even then, it's not as simple as "penis or no", because there are a lot of complicated factors at play that I won't even get into because LONG.)

A person who is attracted to the opposite gender is heterosexual (regardless of the

How did you not mention Disaster DIY? IT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD.

No, that would be Alberta. And just about every other province would get behind that.

A cotton gin. A freaking cotton gin. I cannot believe this is real life. It's like the sort of thing you'd expect people to make up when writing bad fiction. So much disbelief, so much disgust.

I can't even. Words not working anymore.

That sounds absolutely horrifying. It also reminds me of something that happened to me in a bar (close to a decade ago).

At the time, I was having a conversation with a male acquaintance of mine. I'd known him for years, in the sense that we hung out with the same group of people, but not very well. I wouldn't have

I believe that gifts should never be expected (regardless of the occasion) and every gift given, even if completely terrible, should be received with sincere thanks. What you do with it afterwards is up to you.

When I was married just over a year ago, I didn't do a registry because I felt like it was tacky; however,

The TV hidden above the piano.... OMG.

He has autism. For all we know, it's an augmentative communication device (something I see quite often in my job). I wouldn't be so quick to judge or assume.

I have two kids with autism, one not much older than this little boy. I also have a cat, raised from a kitten, who was handled in much the same way as Tara, from the time she was a kitten. Fun fact: there is nobody on this planet that Miss Sookie Snackmouse cares more about than my two little guys. She follows

The birth of my first son was a bit of a crazy one. Basically, I went into early labour and had to be transported via ambulance to a hospital with a NICU. My husband, caught in a couple of towns over for work, desperately drove towards the hospital, with plans to meet us there. Luckily, my mother happened to be

Only 31 and.. yes. Probably have to have surgery. In my case, it was caused by two pregnancies- and as I understand it, it's pretty common. Same thing happened to my mom. :(

I add new ones to the rotation when the old ones are worn out. And, of course, occasionally pick up pretty/sexy ones just to make me feel good.

I don't think (most) people are saying Jaime's been redeemed, so much as they're saying he's on the path to redemption. He's not becoming good- but he's becoming better. Also, he does have a (very skewed) set of morals, and it's made pretty clear how he feels about rape. So, yes, given this point in the character's

I hate-hate-hated this scene. I don't really know what else to say about it, except it upset the hell out of me, and that's saying a lot considering how upsetting the subject matter, in general, is.

What I hate more is the reviewers out there describing the rape as "passionate sex". I've seen others write "rape" in

This article is about spoilers. Naturally, the comments are going to contain spoilers, because that's the way the Internet works. And yet, you have people reading the comments, getting spoiled, and then getting pissed off about it. This is a perfect example of everything that, I think, Madeleine was talking about.

I wish I could like this a hundred times. I'm also sad that this is so far down the list, because it is by far one of the more rational, well thought-out posts here.

I absolutely agree that there's a cultural bias at play here, which explains why doctors from Canada, South America, and all across Europe and Asia
