Considering they're based on Atwood novels, and Atwood writes some of the most brilliant female characters ever seen, I would have to agree with you. It would be an absolute shame if the show completely centered on Snowman.

I'm a HUGE Atwood fan (discovered her when I was probably fifteen or so) and will say that Oryx and Crake was a bit hard for me to get into to start. That said, there's definitely a "hooking point" where suddenly you can't put it down. I think I've read it two or three times, now, and it still never fails to terrify

I think this is just beautiful. A great blend of the original manga and the anime that I fell in love with almost twenty years ago.

I won't lie, though- I hope they don't stick TOO close to the manga with regards to storytelling. There are some plot threads from PGSM (ie, Darkury) and the animated series

I don't know that there are words to explain how excited I am about this. I'm stupidly, unbelievably happy. Atwood's been my favorite author since I first pick up The Handmaid's Tale as a fifteen-year-old. I've literally loved her for more than half of my life.

Of course, there's also that little nugget of fear that

You seem to be confusing sex with gender. Sex is biological, and gender is not. (And even then, it's not as simple as "penis or no", because there are a lot of complicated factors at play that I won't even get into because LONG.)

A person who is attracted to the opposite gender is heterosexual (regardless of the

How did you not mention Disaster DIY? IT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD.

No, that would be Alberta. And just about every other province would get behind that.

A cotton gin. A freaking cotton gin. I cannot believe this is real life. It's like the sort of thing you'd expect people to make up when writing bad fiction. So much disbelief, so much disgust.

I can't even. Words not working anymore.

My grandmother is Hungarian, and I currently own a little 800 sq ft house, not unlike one of these. I also hate my neighbours.

This is giving me all sorts of ideas.

Seriously, though, Afterlife with Archie is amazing.

"Serious condition"? No. Cirrhosis of liver is a serious condition. People with ASD, for the most part, live healthy, satisfying lives. The problem is that the typical population tends to project their ideas about how people "should" be/think/live on us. Like every other human being on the planet, those of us on

I think you make a good point.

Take GoT, for example. It has easily one of the darkest plots on television, and has horrified me on more occasions than I can count; however, it also regularly makes me laugh out loud. I don't think I would have stuck with the show from the beginning if not for those lighter moments.

I have the same problem! Have a hard time watching movies that look "too old". Unless it's a movie I've seen before (like in my childhood), and liked. It infuriates my husband (understandably so), because he and I watched VERY different movies growing up, and I can't get into half of the older stuff that he loves.

Personally, I'd say my biggest gripe is the opposite of the one cited in the article. That is, I don't care so much about obscure actors getting cast for role of my favorite characters (as long as they can pull it off), but I usually hate it when someone too famous gets cast. I find that a lot of the time, seeing a

That sounds absolutely horrifying. It also reminds me of something that happened to me in a bar (close to a decade ago).

At the time, I was having a conversation with a male acquaintance of mine. I'd known him for years, in the sense that we hung out with the same group of people, but not very well. I wouldn't have

I believe that gifts should never be expected (regardless of the occasion) and every gift given, even if completely terrible, should be received with sincere thanks. What you do with it afterwards is up to you.

When I was married just over a year ago, I didn't do a registry because I felt like it was tacky; however,

More like a Dunkin Donuts.

It's hard to explain, but I'll try. Basically, I have ADHD- inattentive subtype. I have a hard time focusing (unless I'm hyper-focusing, which is another issue entirely because OBSESSION), and it can take forever to do basic stuff because I'm easily distracted. I can also be really impulsive, which sucks because

Re. your question- it depends. Generally, children with ASD can be diagnosed as toddlers (much earlier than in the past), thanks to a better understanding of what autism looks like. That said, some kids (like my youngest) exhibit ASD behaviors even from early infancy, while others (like my oldest) aren't diagnosed
