Did they explicitly say 8th grade? I assumed she was in 9th grade, and that their high school is 10th-12th, which isn't uncommon. Because especially on the East Coast, I think starting out in 8th grade as a 14 year old would be very odd, given their school-start age cutoff is January instead of September like in the

I was the WI Film Festival Director's Assistant that year. After the fest, Roger sent her a framed original Hard Day's Night poster, with a note about how much he enjoyed the experience. He was a lovely person.

DOLE-hohsse.

The Buffy example is exactly where my mind always goes. I recently rewatched Season 7 because I kinda hated it when it aired and really hadn't seen much of it since then. In those years, I'd sort of found that my feelings about Spike had hardened. All I could really think of was "Seeing Red" (and the rest of his

Do you honestly think that if Caroline was not compelled by Damon, she would have continued to have sex with him after the first, consensual time? No, she would not have. That makes every instance afterward rape. Period. Please watch the videos linked above by @avclub-41cdd01a02e82e438790ffdace1255a1:disqus ,

Not just the show's attitude - apparently a lot of its viewers share it. This comments section is seriously bumming me out.

Sorry, but when did that happen? I'm about to nerd-out here, but this is the sequence, to my knowledge: in Season 3, he was going crazy on the blood after his Ripper time. You have the timeline right. I think each season has taken roughly half a year. Season 1 started on the first day of junior year, and they started senior year early in Season 3. So now we're probably in spring of senior year, so it's been about a year and a half since Elena met the Salvatores.

I think he's been drinking from blood bags since last season when he decided to try moderation instead of abstinence.

There are a few things I can think of that were very different from Human Elena. The most obvious was the wanton compulsion and feeding at the frat party. Some of the smaller ones are the way she treated Rebekah (who, granted, was being horrible to her), the fact that she was willing to repeatedly feed on Matt (and

OK, one other thing: I love Damon this season. I really do. I think in general, he's being about as "good" as Damon can be (minus trying to kill Matt). That said, I think it's a little weird that people are uniformly viewing his acceptance of Elena as being positive and Stefan's "rejection" of non-human Elena as

I think the sire bond is real, but I also don't think it's a bad development. Like others have mentioned, the feelings are real so it's not like everything that's happened is now invalidated (in general, and with Damon specifically). But I don't think Elena would have acted on them as quickly as she did without the
