For the purpose of creating categories for athletes - what makes a man or woman?

Ronda Rousey doesn’t fight trans fighters.
Why don’t we eliminate gender categories altogether, then?
Should we include trans women in competitive women’s athletics?
Examples? Jezebel has been pretty consistently pro Clinton, while Gawker has been more or less pro Sanders.
I still think this is the worst thing that gawker media has done. Pure animus and petty jealousy driven
:)
Plus, isn’t forcing women to wear minimal clothing kind of creepy?
I understand what you’re trying to do, but this thread reinforces both western standards of beauty as well as white supremacy; doing a random google search of “aboriginal” and posting images you approve of without context is objectification and for lack of a more geographically accurate word, orientalism.
That’s cool that Ledecky is the 29th best 800m swimmer though.
I gave two options. I wish there were better ones.
I think it’s a superficial show of support which actually reinforces white supremacy and Eurocentric definitions of beauty.
Two me there’s two avenues: one - don’t distinguish sports by gender but by levels of ability and make each competition level open. This is “more fair,” however it diminishes the accomplishments of female athletes. The second is having an uncomfortable conversation about the cutoff for competing as a woman.
Restorative justice also usually includes the culprit admitting culpability.
This thread above where a bunch of white people condescendingly post pictures of aboriginal people they approve of from their google image search is weird and gross and speaks to your point.
This whole thread where (presumably white) people are ascertaining the attractiveness of a marginalized group is kind of weird and gross though...
desperate times.
I am a semi-competitive athlete and a woman interested in the future of women’s and men’s sports...
How should we distinguish categories of women’s and men’s sports at the highest level? I don’t think there’s a good way.
There’s a trans boxer who Ronda Rousey famously won’t compete against.
