I’m in the same position as Coates, and Michelle Alexander for that matter. I find somethings problematic about Sanders and the entitlement of the Democratic party in general, but Sanders is better. Coates and Alexander have said virtually the same thing and their reasoned outlooks influenced me.

Handing over a mic

Michelle Alexander:

His own comments on the crime bill give a nuanced view on increasing the carceral state and its impact on vulnerable communities. He demonstrated a broader understanding of racial justice issues than Clinton historically and he continues to today, and it shows in how they address the grievances of BLM protesters.

It doesn’t establish anything more or less than it’s important that he stay in the race and keep fighting from the heart.

Sanders’ racial justice platform is much more transformative than Clinton’s, which is why he has support from New Jim Crow author Michelle Alexander, Ta Nehisi Coates, Nina Turner, and Erica Garner to name a few.

Both of them are lacking, both don’t support reparations, but Sanders doesn’t take money from an industry

It’s not controversial that Warren will support the nominee. What’s controversial is that Warren is supporting Sanders’ run and believes he’s shifted the conversation in American politics. I agree with her.

I’m a POC and while most of my friends who are POC support Sanders, the people I see supporting Clinton are supporting her simply because she’s a known quantity.

No one knew who Sanders was 8 months ago, and he didn’t get mainstream press coverage until February of this year. His achievements are astounding given where he’s starting from. The more people know who he is, the more people vote for him. How do you explain that?

They’re still donating because it’s a movement. It’s already pushed Clinton left and continues to do so. Elizabeth Warren is cheering too:

Is Elizabeth Warren being obscene by cheering Sanders on?

excellent comment.

Clinton was buddies with Robert Byrd (until he died) and IS friends with Kissinger who’s foreign policy destroyed the lives of millions of people of color whom he dehumanized for American hegemony.

Kissinger is Clinton’s adviser to boot.

Sometimes I want to aggregate all the nasty, patronizing, dismissive, snobby, and necessarily personal vitriol I receive from white Clinton supporters to prove some point.

Then I remember that the point is that we have a candidate who was right on Iraq, is right on Israel, is right on ceasing to socialize risk for too

This is part of the function of the DOJ and the Atty general, who’s appointed by the President in the executive. They could have prosecuted in 2009 in the same way they’re prosecuting FIFA in 2016. They still can take this action, even now. I think you misunderstood, what I w saying Clinton is ultimately an apologist

Sanders voters are not organizing against Clinton. They are a big, interesting tent. Many are progressives, many are blue democrats, many are independents, and many are people who are functionally disenfranchised from American politics. I do actually want to know if anything in Clinton’s speeches apologize for Wall

Absolutely valid and insightful, and I really do agree with you, especially re: 1 and 3. There’s no reason Sanders should drop out now.

Re 2: Sanders doesn’t go after RNC low hanging fruit wrt Clinton (he refuses to answer questions about Benghazi and emails). But it’s core to his campaign and his identity to compel

(I am actually inquiring seriously—how do you think Sanders supporters can and should influence Clinton to expand her platform to include progressive items?)

If that’s what the question is, I’m open to suggestions!

Sorry!! i’m just passionate. I get it. So are you!
