You’re missing the idea here. Maybe his primary point of contention was reliability of these motors; but they are performance-oriented. You can’t compare the longevity of a Toyota truck’s motor to that of a BMW. I’d assume you have the 22RE 4-cylinder or 3.4 V6? Because the 3.0s were absolute garbage. That being said,

Every BMW I have owned (4 of them) has had over 200k miles on them. I have never had any engine problems. Maybe try buying BMW’s that have been cared for and haven’t been beat to death?

On a side note older BMW engines (pre-vanos) are reliable as fuck m10, m20, m30, m42, m44

I want to tickle elmo!

So all the international “Engine of the Year” awards mean fuck-all? I suppose every engine outside of a pushrod SBC has problems - but this column leaves the impression that you got stood up by multiple women who preferred BMWs over Benzes.

I’m going on 13 years with no problems...so...tomorrow maybe?

I’m a bimmer fan through & through, having owned an E36, E46, E92, now a F82 and a S1000RR. I can definitely attest to the crap plastic cooling system in my E36 thing overheated multiple times, due to the expansion tank exploding, blew two head gaskets resulting in the water jackets blowing out and obliterating the

Freddy, quit writing articles about stuff you clearly don’t even understand. Since, if you did understand it you would be way more in tune with the real problems of BMW motors and cars then this shit ass list put together here.

Maybe for your next article you can jump on the IMS bearing failure for Porsche train like

GT racing what are supposed to be modified production cars requires some sort of balancing. This isn’t about who can build the fastest production GT car. If I remember right some of these cars have to tune down their engines to compete from the production version. Not all engines are equal and the production cars

You compete in a different class if you want to target max innovation...that's not a goal of LMGTE, costs would go up significantly and you'd lose a lot of the field.. IIRC, LMP1 has no balance of performance provision during the season.

1. its to stop costs rising. GT1 had this problem twice, lmp900 also had it, group c etc etc.

I’m glad that Mucke is OK, that looked hard. Reportedly it was either a floor or a loose wheel, and he went to the medical centre with a hurt leg. Good news: He even gave a thumbs up before goin in. Talk about unbreakable spirit!

this. The CGT isn’t the car that killed Paul Walker, it’s the car that Paul Walker died in after it was driven irresponsibly. When a person dies texting and driving in a Camry, the Camry isn’t “the car that killed [texter]”...

Who else is attempting to do what they’re doing? Or better yet, who else is even attempting to do what they’re doing?

Americans want german quality at japanese prices and looking modern.

F1 and MotoGp both visit Sepang. This isn’t entirely fair because F1 had to hurry to get out before a downpour, but the results still speak for themselves.
