From the tenor of the comments, it seems "open" marriage is chosen to mostly to satisfy the individual desires of the two adults in it. Only one commenter has mentioned how great an "open marriage" is for children. I suspect children suffer in these arrangements as a rule, but have only my intelligence, life

A) This is great.

Is there room in your casket for two? That is one of the most horrifying things I have ever seen, and just convinced me I NEVER want plastic surgery!

Oh, ack, as a former Catholic, (but still Christian,) I wish I had more than one star to give you for this post. Beautifully done, sir/or madam.

Thanks; I didn't know that. I knew he couldn't have been the 117th plaintiff, so the name stymied me.

I think when your attorney's strongest ammo is the age of the claim, that does not ring with quite the moral authority of "my defendant never laid one finger on this child!" I don't know many 14-year-olds who understand age/power politics or the finer points of seeking justice through jurisprudence.

Best read of the day! How could I have missed this?

That's perfectly reasonable for someone who has PTSD, my friend, and NO reason to be ashamed. I hope that would not happen, but it would bolster your case, so there's a silver lining! Can a friend go with you to explain you want to pay the attorney for a letter up front? Note: get ALL of your medical records before

I am of the "don't sue," school also, but you might be amazed at how quickly a letter from an attorney, outlining your situation and how the hospital has treated you, will at least get someone to take you seriously. You don't have to sue. You are negotiating for competent medical care.

You know what's even worse than being a cynical doctor who dismisses a woman's chronic pain? Being a woman with a rare condition (now being studied at the NIH) suffering in agony for years with her "idiopathic" pain until a competent physician diagnosed her. And those "delicious" drugs (that aren't free when you pay

Idiots such as this ... um ... "man," are why I read Gawker instead of Reddit.

A "mistake" would be if the man tripped and his penis accidentally penetrated a person's anus. Quite a feat, that. Also, I'm not sure how someone "mistakenly" masturbates all over a vomiting person. I'll have to give that one some more thought.

Thank you for this. If only everyone here had your graciousness and maturity level, even one year later (I'm glancing through a year-old thread) this site would improve a thousand-fold. I'm a First Amendment girl all the way, but... this displays editorial judgment?

I am a liberal Christian and this is the first time I had ever noticed how exclusively anti-Christian this site is, even one year later. Here, I'm a "Christurd" who lives in a trailer park, I don't believe in science (not everyone is a fundamental creationist, but Christians who believe in science are a lot harder to

With all politeness, you covered far more than the website, and that's what I was responding too. But I have to go do something productive (!) I think I find GP more to be pitied than censured, if a fraction of what's been passed along the past few days is true. Money doesn't buy class or insulation from the tragedies

Most horrifying thing about that tattoo (aside from its existence): the disembodied penis appears forcibly RIPPED off a man's body.

Not my life, thank God!

Mind. Officially. Blown.

Agreed, stacesomething. When women insist "We women all hate each other," I have to respectfully disagree. I don't think most women hate other women, simply because they're women. I think when many people dislike a woman, it's usually because she IS irritating on some level, not because she possesses a uterus.

It seems you keep trying to frame the argument simply in terms of the blog, GOOP.
