No. No it is not. For what are these stories or the comment sections about if not to ponder the greater themes in our lives and culture and renegotiate them? I hardly think that the male involved is irrelevant to this story. Without him there would be no story.

A man who might not know; a man who may have thought (in general) that he was just having a good time and getting laid, and gave it no further thought than…

I want that men have some responsibility in the possibility of pregnancy for women, yes. And that it not just be getting their rocks off while women face all of the consequences.

I’m really not responding to the comments. I am fairly certain the law will hold the woman responsible, and yet nothing will be done about the one who impregnated her. No one will ever know his name. Or care.
One person I never see mentioned in these articles: the father of the child.
We really need to publicise safe haven laws.
I don’t know about India, but in Catholic Europe, one could drop off a child anonymously at a nunnery (there was a screen); and this is from where the last name Esposito stems. It means “exposed” in Italian/Latin, and was the default surname given to the children.
