I find it laudable that most of us, even as car enthusiasts, take the safety of our cars and trucks as an important factor. I’m thinking of doing a quick history of major U.S. auto safety regulations with eras denoted by the impact those regulations had.

It’s kind of culturally interesting to read multiple comments about the windshield. I live in an area where cracked windshields are super common because of rocks in the road from our local geology. I don’t think anyone bats an eye here over a cracked windshield and most people don’t bother replacing them because

One word, Kate: Pesto!

Yeah, I’m sure Putin’s just shittin’ his pants over there in Moscow:

Scapes make an excellent kimchi, as well as a good soy pickle.

None of that is a valid excuse to not stop at a stop sign, especially when the intersection has a stop sign for only one direction and is a blind corner thanks to thick foliage.

Actually, shermans had lower death rates than german tanks due to having larger hatches for the crew, so they could evac easier. The gas engine was a slight problem, but tanks try to avoid getting shot in the back anyway. The sherman did feature sloped armor, a significant upgrade for tanks of the time. The gun was
