S5 is quite good, until they lose Troy.
The only episode of S4 that wasn’t actively awful was the Body Swap.
Compelling characters, haha.
It’s SO LONG.
I mean…yeah.
Yeah, TLJ was silly, and TLJ was way too fucking long…and TLJ was very, very pretty!
Oh, loving old school noir is precisely why I fucking hated Brick, haha.
It also leans more into being way too fucking long than its predecessor…despite somehow only being 9 minutes longer.

I know exactly what made Maverick awesome:
…but will any of the new characters be a Catalonian nationalist???
Witwer seems like a guy who would jump at the chance to be in MQ, even if it’s a bit part.
Sounds like it’s a “Young hayseed moves to the big city, meets a very smart woman, and starts using his powers to help people” type of Superman story.
At the same time…S2 of the Witcher threw out most of Sapkowski’s story in order to tell generic dark fantasy pablum.

Yeah, seems like Cavill was dead set on making a show that adapts the Witcher novels to the screen, while the writers were just trying to piggyback off the popularity of the games in order to adapt their rejected “Dark Fantasy” screenplays.
Playing Geralt well is *very* difficult, because you have to convey the dry humor and the deep sadness/loneliness underneath the “Unfeeling” exterior.
You don’t even need “accusations” about the writers room being shitty to understand it, in fairness - if S3 is anything resembling S2 in its treatment of the novels, I doubt he’s even taking their calls.
It’s worth noting that Kumail was notorious for being a gym buff even 10 years ago.
