If you had both hands on the wheel you wouldn’t need an armrest..........

The ~05 Silverado refresh? Yeah, it was odd. Never fit the truck half as well as the original / Tahoe version of the GMT800.

This.

Tire sizes have gone up because Euro pedestrian safety regs raised the hoods, which raised the beltlines, so in order to keep things looking halfway decent the tires grew to keep things proportional, and then the wheels grew with them.

I sell Fords. I try to explain to customers that the new Ranger will disappoint. How can a mid-size rig be even $5k cheaper than a full-size truck? Other than 500 pounds less metal how is the manufacturing cost significantly less? The Ranger will have the same 10 speed transmission, the same electronics, airbags,

I know a few owners who have had issues, and a few techs who have delt with issues. Ford has been pretty good about covering warranty issues, and some of what they call a warranty issue is well outside what they probably should be covering.

Exactly. I should note that both my coworkers are older and are in no particular rush to get anywhere. The one with the 2.7L regularly hits 25mpg on the highway.

It seems to me that all the people who get shit mileage in the EB Fords are racing from stoplight to stoplight then complaining about MPG. Two co-workers of mine have EB F150s one with the 2.7L and another with the 3.5L. I have a 2012 Chevy 1500 with a 5.3L. All of us are 4x4 and all of us use the trucks as god

Tahoes, Suburbans and their GMC siblings are among the cheapest cars to maintain up to 150,000 miles. If one needs a vehicle with this much interior room for people/stuff, you could make an argument that there is a small subgroup for whom it does make sense for that longer loan. Probably not with this engine, though.

Well my puppies are giant Alaskan Malamutes that weigh around 185lbs and 170lbs. They are bigger than most guys. So a long wheel base suv is the only way they can go anywhere long distance.

Yeah, the big V8s get pretty decent highway mileage, even at 75mph.

The problem is gas prices disproportionately affect the poor.

$50a gallon

I hate the Prius because of the general mentality of the drivers, and most of their lack of ability to understand that the far left lane of a highway isn’t the ideal place to go 55mph in a 70mph zone.

The Republican tax cut comment is completely unnecessary. Southwest received a guarantee from their engine manufacturer that the parts involved in the critical failure would last the lifetime of the engine without replacement. Not to mention that Southwest has an incredible safety reputation.

It’s the only model that Southwest flies.

That is the problem. CARB is superceding the federal process of law across state borders, which is an enumerated power of the federal government, and not something one state should have sole control over dictating to other states through economic leverage.

But therein lies the problem. Ford isn’t going to see the benefit of investing the resources in updating the Taurus, at least not in the amount of time that’s acceptable to Wall Street. As it stands today the 5300# Body on Frame pickup does just as well as the V6 sedan in fuel economy.

You can’t make me believe that a 5300 pound body on frame truck is more efficient than a 3900 pound car.
