Let’s say I wanted an electric car right now. (And I kinda do.) Would I choose a new Tesla? Probably not. They’re just way too expensive. Perhaps a used one? I couldn’t do that either. I don’t trust their long term quality.

I can’t imagine making this my criteria for a sports car.

I think the problem with Autopilot is that it’s a term that meshes well with Elon Musk’s self-image as The Man of the Future™. Though Tesla stans have argued that it’s synonymous with autopilot features on airliners, most people are taking their cue on the term from science fiction, which is “the computer drives the

poor electrical connection that may cause the rearview camera to display intermittently a blank or distorted image, increasing the risk of a crash”

Neutral: CNN summed the debate up perfectly - one pundit literally called it a shitshow, another called it a hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a trainwreck. And I think they undersold it. I can’t blame the moderator - the only way to control Trump would be to have a remotely controlled cattle prod up his ass.

The government pumping a ton of money into the space program brought about a lot of innovation in the 60's. New alloys, Velcro, pushing computer capabilities. It all depends upon how things are handled. The problem is that our government is now a shit show that will bungle anything pretty much off the bat. That’s

Reverse: Give it a couple of hours and trump will say he invented the diesel engine.

Sounds like a perfect candidate for an LS swap.

Alternate headline: Autonomous Vehicles Continue Embedded Research With Pedestrians

Software that is worse than expected and behind schedule? I am shocked!!!

“We are very happy Tesla came to China because Tesla is just like Apple in the early days, they educate the whole market.”

4th: I’m the target buyer for a small/mid-size EV with a hatch. I would dig the ID.4, but VW has a long and sordid, nasty history. From Nazism to racism to destroying the planet with dieselgate.

When Volkswagen starts selling its new compact electric crossover, the 2021 VW ID4, late this year, it believes its best opportunity to conquest new customers

Wait... a 6' 2" 330lb dude fits in a Spitfire?

I don’t get why Michigan would mess with a new Michigan auto company, but maybe the intricacies of state politics are just too complicated for me to understand.”

Over the last couple of weeks, lots of morons have bitched and moaned about California and the anti-business state government. I’m curious about what you idiots think about how Rivian is being treated in Michigan. Do tell...

2nd gear is such a blinkered view of the world. No EV tech is set in stone. It is rapidly changing. China may be moving to corner some of today’s materials, but there are so many paths the EVs can go down there is no way to corner the EV market. This is a dummy’s take.

For real though, people are not taking the threat of China as seriously as they should.

Michigan lawmakers making life harder for Michiganders?

The Rivian sales ban is a Republican Thing.
