FWIW, I bought my last two new cars, both Bullitt Mustangs (‘08 and ‘19), without a test drive. Most dealers won’t let you drive their ‘halo’ cars—we can argue the ‘halo’ part—because they don’t want a lot of miles put on them (and I don’t want to buy a ‘new’ car with 75 miles on the odometer). One dealer let me drive

Google, Apple, Facebook et al are known to start fresh college grads with low 6-figure salaries; if they have the right degree--AI, machine learning, etc.--and some experience.

Olive Garden? You must be one of them-there ‘elites.’

Gotta know: what movie? Is that Michael Landon?

It isn’t necessarily a ‘better’ thing; it’s a historical/community thing; e.g. your dad liked Fords, you lost your virginity in a Ford, etc. so you like Fords. I just sold my late father’s ‘65 Mustang 289 convertible to a guy who’s owned/owns several Mustangs, his dad had/has several, and he bought it for his

Ha. I probably couldn’t get the $30K anymore--it’s got over 200K miles on it--but it’s got 150K miles of great memories; no way I let it go for less than $2K.

One word: “Lucas.”

Star for using ‘its’ correctly.

California had their own C-F-C a couple decades ago; they repeatedly offered me $700 for my Austin-Healey 3000 which, at the time, I could have easily sold for $30K (it was appraised at $35K)..

A pizza delivery guy drove one to our house the other day; I told him ‘Nice car!’ Not because I believe it, but he was obviously very proud of it and, why not (yes, I tipped him too).

I’m thinking ‘What would George Carlin say about all this.’ Damn, I miss him.

My Bullitt makes 480HP if I can get 93-octane gas. Unfortunately, 93 isn’t widely available in California, so I’m stuck with 475HP on 91-octane. I added 100-octane race fuel to get a calculated 480, but my butt dyno--and a couple improv 0-60 runs--couldn’t tell a difference.
