Except a recession can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. If enough people remember the last one (2008), they will ‘tighten their belts,’ hold off selling their houses, buying a new car, etc. and, sure enough, we’ll get a recession.

I don’t see why pro- and con- BEV sides argue; they aren’t assault weapons and nobody is talking about banning BEVs. Buy one if you need/want/like them, and don’t if you don’t.
I just did a 1,300 mile roundtrip from Modesto, CA to Boise, ID. I didn’t see a single Supercharger or other charging station at any of our half-dozen stops, or along the road (of course, I wasn’t really looking, but if a station had one it would have been on the 200ft signs they erect along the highways, gas stations…

IIRC, the Japanese essentially subsidize their car makers by basically forcing owners to buy a new car every few years (‘safety,’ ‘emissions,’ yada yada). Might the Chines do the same?
